This past week the Thunderbirds found some late-season success in hockey, women’s volleyball cruised to a bounce back weekend, women’s rugby 7s came out second in a crowded tournament field, golf exploded on the final day of their tournament, and track and field took part in the Jerome Games at the Richmond Oval. This past week featured the partial return of golf, rugby premier league action, and playoff pushes for hockey, volleyball, and basketball. Hockey and volleyball got clean swept across both women’s and men’s matchups while basketball took four games as wins on the road + Liz Wang chats with men's volleyball captain Jordan Deshane about what to do moving forward into playoffs.

The two high-powered offenses from the lower mainland go for the kill in order to claim sole possession of first in Canada West.

Rugby and swimming return to the weekly ledger while it was Winter Classic time for hockey, Legends Cup action for basketball, and a victorious weekend for volleyball against the Manitoba Bisons.

It is COLD! And so were three of the T-birds teams this past weekend including women’s volleyball and our two hockey teams who went a collective 0-6. But, both basketball squads swept Trinity Western and men’s volleyball thrashed MacEwan on the road.

The two lower mainland rivals face off in a historic weekend for both UBC basketball coaches.

The Thunderbirds are back in action with basketball splitting a road series in Fraser Valley and hockey getting swept against the Calgary Dinos. The crew also previews upcoming volleyball matches and the other spring sports with some new voices on the air!

The final week of sports action for the Thunderbirds in 2019 featured some highs for basketball, men's volleyball, and men's rugby while both hockey sides and women's volleyball closed the calendar year with disappointing finishes.

This past week volleyball took down the TRU side 3-1 at home, basketball swept their sister school out in Kelowna, hockey came away with the opposite outcome of the basketball, swimming WON the Canada West title for the 7th straight and 11th straight years (SLURPEE TIME), and Men’s rugby played a gritty and shocking championship.
