Everybody is filled with some desire and powerful influence in their life. The problems in life stem from those passions leading us into places of addictions and emptiness. The Apostle Paul shows us how to live by another influence that will lead us into wholeness and joy.

Who is the Holy Spirit and what is his story? This sermon overviews the story of the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible. The Spirit from the beginning is a creative force which empowers his people. In the New Testament the Spirit comes upon Jesus and then upon his people as he empowers them to newness of life and mission. The Spirit is our power, our source for change and breaks heaven into our lives.

Many people view the Christian life as a solitary journey between us and God. But Peter shows us that Christians are never alone. God gives the church elders who lead, guide and protect people in the church. They are to be a reflection of Jesus, the Chief Shepherd, who will one day come to finally bring heaven down to us.

Can God still use you when you’ve blown it? Jesus’ final encounter with Peter shows us how God can restore, redeem and release us for his Kingdom.

All of us desire to be swept away into an intellectually stimulating, soul stirring experience that fulfills us in every way. Jesus reveals that all of us were made to worship a life-giving King. He teaches us what worship looks like and how God is looking to the most broken people to join this chorus of worship.

What does it practically mean to walk with Jesus? In Jesus’ last “I Am” statement, he defines what it looks like to have a personal, day-to-day walk with Him. Walking with Jesus is like being with a close friend who knows all about us and still loves us. When we walk with Jesus, we are promised a life of joy, love and transformation.

Jesus claims to be the one and singular way to God. People often believe this exclusive view to be unfair and unenlightened. During this sermon Pastor Dennis explores the exclusivity of Jesus and how unlike our culture Jesus radically includes everyone.

For the context of this sermon please read John 11:1-4 and 28-44. Jesus isn’t just a great teacher or a great inspirational leader. In this fifth “I Am” statement Jesus shows us that he is the “resurrection and the life” who can bring us back from the grave. Jesus’ resurrection shows us that the story of God is never over, that God can redeem anybody and anything from the darkest of places.

God often seems distant and hard to reach. In John 10 Jesus tells us that he is the door to experiencing the presence of God and the fullness of life. Through Jesus we have clarity, assurance and peace with God. The singular doorway to the tremendous beauty of God can be experienced through the person of Jesus.
