How do we reconcile this instruction with a call to bring God's system of living to the world?
Also with the many places where scripture calls on us to stand fast or to overcome.?

Luke 4:17, It is by grace that you have been saved - therefore you may approach God with confidence.
As a follower of Christ, your works, or lack of works, does not affect God's distance from you. Neither do they affect His approach-ability, and certainly not His father love for you.
So relax you grip on yourself - you may be more concerned about works than you think - walk with God, closely and in freedom.
