This past Sunday we talked about making good decisions. In life we are presented with all kinds of decisions to make both big and small, and God wants to be a part of that process. Instead of becoming overwhelmed with a decision or letting our emotions take the drivers wheel, we can pause and seek wisdom from God for how he might want us to move forward.

This last Sunday Pastor Jack preached about waiting. As we find ourselves weeks into this pandemic, we cannot ignore the reality that we are all waiting for something. It can be tempting to want to speed up to the end of trying times in life, but if we did that we would miss out on what God has for us in the middle. That is where we find ourselves now, in the middle, right in-between what was and what will be. What we do in the middle of the circumstances of life is so important because God is not simply concerned with our destination, but rather he is concerned with our heart and the process and journey that we take with him as we navigate through life's difficult moments.

This is the final week in our series Escape Room, and we are discussing grief. All of us during this time are grieving something that we have lost out on because of this pandemic. Pastor Jack helps give tools and ways to process our grief, alongside LMFT Susette Magaña. Lets listen in as we are challenged to dare to hope during this time of lament.

This last Sunday, we heard a team teach from Pastor Jack & Pastor Troy about temptation. When life sometimes feels like we are in an escape room, we often find ourselves faced with
temptations that promise us a way out or a moment of relief. However, these momentary reprieves can lead us to cycles of guilt and shame. This week we learned that not only are these
temptations NOT from God, but that He actually can provide us with an escape plan from temptation if we would only turn to Him.

Much like an escape room, present circumstances can amplify our emotions. Many have experienced loss or simply just fear of the future. Sometimes we can become so overwhelmed, we even forget God in the process. This last Sunday, we took time to hear from Pastor Jack and MFT Jeffrey Ortiz about practical tools concerning our mental health in the midst of this
pandemic- to learn how to take our thoughts captive and cast our cares on to Jesus.

An escape room requires everyone to work together to achieve the result that we all hope for. The escape room is designed to make your team work together, but it can also cause us to
notice some of the issues in our relationships. Staying at home can feel a lot like the escape room in this season. It's an opportunity to expose our best or our worst self. Pastor Jack encouraged us to focus on our part of the relationships that we are in and take an internal look at ourselves instead of focusing on blaming others.

All of us have experienced the feelings, thoughts, and emotions that we associate with being stuck. As we find ourselves safe at home, we can also find ourselves feeling overwhelmed as
we navigate through new waters and circumstances we didn’t choose. Though we didn’t choose this situation, we can always choose how we respond to things.
