Hello Listening Folks,
In this episode of Civically Speaking, veteran journalists, David Kirton and Phil Tank, join me to share some of their observations about COVID-19. We touch on a range of topics - including what Phil's doing to re-arrange his digs - to what David is watching on television these days. And yes, very much, we get into the depths of the seriousness of the impacts this epidemic is having and will have on our shared community of Saskatoon and beyond.
Much appreciation to David and Phil for joining the show.
Please be sure to tune into community radio station CFCR.ca, 90.5 FM in Saskatoon - and support all local media as your best sources for learning what is going on, on the ground, in community.
Apologies for the sound. Very retro - it gets better as we go in this home studio in the making. The tools are rudimentary at best. The audience - the piercing eyes of 3 critters:)
Take care.

Please have a listen to this bonus podcast where Ari Avivi joins Jeff and I. We engaged in a zoom vide chat that extended from an audio-based discussion Jeff and I had earlier. (I spare you the video recording part of this for now!). Ari shares his perspective on recent civic actions being taken in Saskatoon and beyond regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
In casual coffee-chat, geek-style, with our laptops open - we run the gamut on a number of topics - focusing on messaging and communications coming out of Saskatoon's City Hall and elsewhere; to thoughts about what can people do, workwise, and prepare to do, workwise, during this time of social distancing. Have a listen. Apologies for a rather abrupt end due to an internet connection that fluctuated.
Please share this podcast and other civically speaking podcasts with others - together at home. And, be sure to support local. Radio. Shops. Businesses, Organizations.

In this episode of Civically Speaking, guest, Jeff Jackson and I break down one of our world's most defining moment of this century with the outbreak of pandemic 2019-novel-coronavirus (COVID-19). Thanks Jeff for joining me virtually from our respective homes.
1n 1918 we had the Spanish Flu, see wiki-link at end for a quick overview. In 2020, we face a pandemic known as COVID-19.
Due to recent precautionary measures being taken at CFCR.ca HQ, we were not able to be in studio live today. Or, to have this episode completed in time to upload it to air during its regular time.
Next week, CFCR.ca, will be working with us hosts, who are able and willing, to upload pre-recorded shows sent in a day early. Thanks to the core team at CFCR for handling the dials for all us hosts. May also be uploading bonus material to podcast in between so stay tuned.
During this pandemic, be safe, follow the necessary precautions, be a do-good family member, friend, and neighbour. And, do your best to support local businesses, community-based efforts, and local media, like CFCR.ca.
Virtual hugs, hand shakes, foot taps, and fist and elbow bumps.
