WGR’s Paul Hamilton thinks Evander Kane will indeed be traded this summer, as the Sabres look to clean up a shaky locker-room situation. But Paul also thinks the Sabres will be in a cap crunch soon, need a defenseman, and Kane’s salary should be the one Buffalo chooses to move to get that defenseman. That said, Paul likes Kane’s on-ice effort and production, but those other issues make Kane expendable

Mike Morreale says Cale Makar impressed him at the NHL combine, and with today’s focus on blueline skating and offense, Makar is an intriguing prospect. Mike isn’t concerned about Casey Mittelstadt doing no push-ups, suggesting Mittelstadt is still a kid and had extra weight on the bar.
