Jeff Paterson, our Canucks reporter, joined us in his regular spot. Talked about Quinn Hughes and his shot. Talked about Alex Chiasson. Hopefully he gets another shot in the NHL next year. Just not Vancouver… 10 goals is nothing to scoff at. Loved how Bruce was touting him to be a player of the week. Talked about Bruce and his contract situation. We’ll have a truer read on the playoff picture next week when they face off vs Dallas. Thinks it’s a good thing that some of this chatter has died down.

Our Monday Insider, John Shannon joined Matt and Blake in his regular slot. Talked about the LA Kings and how they set up on the back end. John talked about Crosby and how he’ll be one of the best to ever play. Talked about the actual Mount Rushmore. John thinks that we will hear more about Boudreau when the season is over. Get the games done and we’ll hear more about it in the month of May. Thinks that this is only a distraction for the media. This is how Rutherford and Allvin conduct their business. Talked about the connection between Rutherford and Paul Maurice. There is a relationship there. Paul needed a break from hockey and the team needed a break from him. They stopped listening.
Our Canucks reporter, Jeff Paterson joined us amidst a Canucks heater. Talked about the upcoming schedule of the teams around them and what needs to happen. Canucks still have games against all the teams that are around them but those teams don’t have any games against each other. Likes that the Canucks still have these teams to play to hold onto a faint playoff hope. If you had asked JPat a month ago, he would have been sure that they’d have been mathematically eliminated. Talked about Bruce being upset with the effort at practice. Talked about picture day and Brandon Sutter being a part of it.

Our Friday regular, Rick Dhaliwal, joined Matt and Blake before he cracked the crown. Talked about the importance of local coverage as both our shows hit the one year mark this week. Talked about Spencer Martin and signing to be the backup the next couple of years. They got a good guy at a good price point. Talked about where this leave MDP and Silovs being able to develop in Abby. Talked about Bruce Boudreau. The club hasn’t come out and said if he is in or out so they can’t be upset at the media for speculating who could be coming. Talked about some potential incoming players the Canucks are eyeing.
Our Canucks reporter, Jeff Paterson joined us after back to back 5-1 wins. Talked about our poll question. Says that JT Miller’s streak impressed him the most. He did it while others weren’t producing. Talked about goaltending. Talked about the upcoming home-stand that could put them back in the playoff race. As long as they are not mathematically eliminated, they are still in it. Talked about Horvat and his faceoff prowess.

Our Thursday regular, Scott Rintoul, joined for a wide look in the world of sports. Started off with the Canucks win in Vegas. Talked about EP40 and the season he has had. Tied Allvin superstar comments and his 4 point performance. Not saying that it is a direct result but if he had that relayed to him, he should want to go out and prove him wrong. Talked about Bo Horvat. Doesn’t think he will retire a Canuck but is simply playing the odds. Talked about Bruce Boudreau and if he will be back. Talked about the bevy of sports this weekend. Excited for MLB opening day. The Jays have him eager for it. Masters is so special.
Our Canucks reporter, JPat joined us. Naturally started talking about how Tiger did in his first round at the Masters. Not a perfect round but expectations were pretty low to start. To be within striking distance of the lead is pretty impressive. Talked about the resurgence of EP40. Thinks he needed 40 games after the layoff and injury last year. Doesn’t want to compare him to Miller but noted that JT has a better production rate in the same amount of time. It was remarkably complete effort by Pettersson. For Jeff, it was the playmaking and the complete 200 foot game. Things that we haven’t seen overall from start to finish. You hope that he can hit next season running with this lead up of 40 games. He will be without the contract distractions. Doesn’t think the Petey took Allvin’s comments personally. Talked about the special teams and turnaround in-season. JPat has never seen anything like it in his career with this club. Talked about Spencer Martin after reports of a one-way contract. Think’s it’s a good move to bring him up. When opportunity knocked, he was there. Nobody will forget the 50 saves vs EDM, even in a losing effort. You’ve hear this management talk about cap space. Talked about Bo Horvat. Logical side of the brain says he doesn’t retire a Canuck. We don’t truly know what this management group thinks of Bo. Not trying to run him out of town but will just say no at this point. There will be another uniform worn by Bo when it’s all said and done. Talked about Brad Richardson. There was 8 years between game winning goals for him.

Our Wednesday Insider, Darren Dreger joined Matt and Blake. Talked about NTC going public. Surprised that it isn’t done yet. The update is that what they thought would be done in a couple of days, has some hang ups. Tried to clear up what is happening with Bruce Boudreau and why he might not be back. Says it is fair to say it is in doubt. Dregs doesn’t find it unreasonable that those conversations haven’t happened yet. No doubt he has done an incredible job. Thinks that the team might want to wait to the end of the year. Doesn’t mean there is anything sinister there. Bruce runs into trouble when he doesn’t know how to not answer a question. Talked about coaches and potential vacancies around the league. Talked about the Hart trophy and how it is awarded. Talked about Travis Green and potentially seeing over Canada for the World Championship.
