Bob Carswell delivers a weekly programme of great Manx Gaelic broadcasting and entertainment.
We hear the first part of a poem remembering Archdeacon Joseph Moore, 'The Master', written by Rev Edward Priestland, born in Kirk Andreas in 1849, who published a booklet of three poems under the title 'Manx Memories' in about 1900.
Our story in Manx is about a young man's close-run thing with death which made him unafraid and a formidable warrior in later years: someone who knew death would take him eventually - but not without a fight.
