La Trobe University Professor Alan Pearce, a neurophysiologist researching mild brain injury and repetitive brain trauma in sport, delves into the severity of concussion. In 2015 Professor Pearce signed a $60,000 contract with the AFL to undertake research on retired players, however there was almost zero cooperation from the governing body over the two-year period. The AFL is now facing two class actions and affected players could receive up to a $1 billion in compensation.

The most controversial FIFA World Cup is taking place. From the moment it was announced back in 2010, there were more questions than answers. To help us unpack the issues surrounding the tournament we're joined by Chief Football Writer at the Independent, Miguel Delaney. Miguel is a revered journalist who has been a very outspoken critic of Qatar and we caught up him just before he boarded a plane to the global sporting event. 

It’s a case which shocked Australia. Brittany Higgins a young former Liberal political staffer came forward in February 2021 and revealed she had been the victim of an alleged rape by a colleague in Parliament House. In October 2022 the trial began however in an unexpected twist it was deemed a mistrial, after it was discovered a juror had accessed research papers which weren't presented as evidence in court. To help us dissect and understand the case in layman’s terms we caught up with Professor Rick Sarre, Emeritus Professor of Law and Criminal Justice at the University of South Australia.
