Class Of

Beware the psychoplasmics! Cinematographer Mark Irwin (SCREAM, DUMB AND DUMBER, THE FLY) recounts his time working with David Cronenberg on THE BROOD. Mark discusses his use of shadows, the chaos of Oliver Reed acting with a team of scared gymnasts, Cronenberg’s enthusiasm for fake blood, the autobiographical nature of the movie, and much more!

"They're her children. More exactly, the children of her rage." We kick off a new Class of 79 series on David Cronenberg's THE BROOD with star Cindy Hinds! Cindy played Candice Carveth - the little girl at the center of this messed family drama. Cindy talks about working with David Cronenberg and Oliver Reed, the scenes that were cut, the stolen cast and crew present, working with Christopher Walken on THE DEADZONE, and more!

Cinematographer Rob Draper rounds out our series on HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS! Rob deconstructs the “laundry chute” scene, how he slipped an APOCALYPSE NOW nod into the film, and why he named his son after The Shape!

TINNNAAAA!!! Wendy Foxworth joins Natasha to talk about her role as Tina Williams in HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS. Wendy talks about Tina's complex (and polarizing) character traits, her open-ended demise (did Tina live?!) and much more!

The Shape speaks! Don Shanks joins Natasha to talk about his unconventional audition for Michael Myers, the real occult practices and symbolism used in the original Dr. Death scene, how Donald Pleasence broke his nose, the time he and Stephen King talked Fango on the set of THE STAND, and more!

He's Back With A Vengeance! Our series on HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS arrives just in time for the spooky season. Danielle Harris joins Natasha to chat about her recent role in Quentin Tarantino's ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD and looks back at her role as Jamie Lloyd in HALLOWEEN 5!

Decades before he and his team at Legacy Effects created Guillermo Del Toro’s amphibious star in THE SHAPE OF WATER, John Rosengrant helped bring to life a different aquatic creature in LEVIATHAN.
John talks about his first meeting with Stan Winston, the inspirations behind the creature’s design, his on-screen moment, and much more!

Legendary creature performer and creator, Tom Woodruff Jr., joins Natasha to talk about LEVIATHAN! Tom hilariously looks back at his time performing as the humanoid fish creature in LEVIATHAN. Tom explains why it is the worst creature suit he’s ever performed in, his lonely perspective from being held captive inside the suit in a tank in Malta, killing Ernie Hudson on-screen, his best Peter Weller impression, and much more!

Say AHHHH!

Our series on LEVIATHAN kicks off with SFX legend Alec Gillis!

Alec worked on the film as a member of Stan Winston’s team. He shares his memories of filming in Rome, the mechanics of shooting “dry for wet”, the special effect he doesn’t care for (but is learning to embrace!), his best George P. Cosmatos impression, and more!

To conclude our series on ALIEN, Natasha chats with action director and stunt-coordinator and performer, Clive Curtis!
Clive has a fascinating perspective on the making of ALIEN.
He performed as Yaphet Kotto’s stunt double as Parker. Clive talks about the extended Parker death sequence that never made it to screen, working with Ridley Scott, and being cast as a stunt-performer again in ALIENS!
