Sadly, a lot of folks think the Hollies' career effectively ended after their smash, "Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)." Irresistable flops like this one, though, show they were still quite a vibrant power pop group. Note: This scan is a representative image from our archives. This copy comes in a vintage Epic Records factory sleeve. It has pristine Mint audio, and the labels and vinyl are very close to Mint.

Wow! OK, I confess: I love this kind of Doo Wop, with that hard-to-imitate bass man spilling out nonsense syllables that somehow sound great together! The flip is another uptempo number, but it can't compare to the glories of "True True Love." I fell for it so quickly I had to get a copy in our "jukebox"... so have a listen and see what you think. Collector Nerd Alert: This is a first pressing with Comet in a serif typeface on a black label with silver print. Note: This beautiful copy's labels grade Near Mint with a tiny tear and very light ringwear (see scan). Although the vinyl looks a strong EX, with some notable scuffing, the audio shines through pristine Mint in the parts I auditioned... Awesome sound!

This limited edition (500 copies) white-vinyl release is so good I had to grab an mp3 "snippet" for you to hear... It's an intriguing blend of Modern Rock, Psychedelic Rock, and even Surf Rock with that cool guitar hook. The B side is worth a listen as well. Originally released on Timbri 101. Teddy and the Pandas weren't known as a soul group, but on this amazing number they managed to groove like one. "The Lovelight" also comes across as a really groovy sunshine-pop number. This rare side appeared for a period of time on the flipside of some Rock'n Mania reissues. Unlike most others, Rock'n Mania was an independent reissue label that licensed tracks from many different companies, like Eric did.

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original picture sleeve. During the 1990s, a lot of singers took to mimicking the singing style Mills displays here, but they usually failed to get the point: It's all about feelings, emotions... not self-indulgent vocal theatrics. Here you have one of the great performances of deep soul, 1980s style. Try to forget all the mannered imitations and enjoy the beauty of this singing... and this song. By the way, the B side is specially edited from a longer (5:09) album version. Note: This beautiful 45 has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), and the picture sleeve is nearly flawless!

These two great Chicago tunes have an interesting history as singles. "Questions" (perhaps my personal favorite Chicago song) was the group's first single, released in 1969 on Columbia 44909, and it had a much longer version of the song than on later releases. That first single only climbed as high as #71 on the pop chart. The song was re-released in an edited version (one verse missing) on this single, backed by the group's dynamite cover of "I'm A Man", and finally made it to the Top 40 1971. This is that release, and a powerful two-sided hit it was (and remains)! By the way, "I'm A Man" is also a dramatically edited version of the 7-plus-minutes LP cut. Note: This beautiful promo copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels with a touch of storage wear. The vinyl (styrene) looks almost untouched, and the grooves preserve pristine Mint sound.
