Here's a beautiful copy of one my two favorite Linda Ronstadt recordings — the other being "Long Long Time." This single is frustratingly hard to find in Near Mint or better condition — even on reissue. Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. It has very nearly Mint labels and sound. The vinyl has a few light scuffs and also grades Near Mint.

Listening to this Philly Soul classic again today, I was thinking that the spark of genius at work here, in the collaboration among Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff and Bobby Martin, is precisely the same as that which gave life to the Motown genius of producer/writers like Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong, with miracles of Soul music such as "Just My Imagination" by the Temptations. Anyway, what I mean is... I love it! Not on the Rolling Stone, Dave Marsh or Kev Roberts lists? I think I'm hearing something those guys don't, cause to me this is a 2-star recommendation (our highest)! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Philadelphia Int'l Records factory sleeve. It has gorgeous, pristine Mint audio.

This genre-defying tour-de-force could be called Horn Rock, Hard Rock, RnB, or, as I've done here, Funky Soul. No matter what category you pick, you gotta admit it's a Classic 45! By the way, this is the same version of the song as that released the year before on Mercury 73008, which hit #81p in May 1970. The A side is slightly edited from a 3:20 album track. Great, soulful flip, which is different from that on the earlier release. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Mercury Records factory sleeve. It has Mint labels and nearly pristine sound with no distortion.

This great record is well deserving of its high position in Dave Marsh's list of the 1001 greatest singles of Rock'n'Soul. I'm not sure that it wouldn't be even higher in my personal list... simply a perfect record. It was a huge hit, so presumably it sold a large number of copies, but folks must be hoarding them, cause it's not easy finding a Near Mint or better copy these days! By the way, the A side is a specially edited version of the 4:38 album track. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Buddah Records factory sleeve. The flip is an incredible extension of the A side, not available on the album. An absolutely brilliant sonic experiment. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original RCA factory sleeve. This terrific number was the singer's fourth straight #1 Country hit starting from his debut, "A Better Man." All were from his debut album, "Killin' Time." Note: This beautiful 45 has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). Some of these copies are on a silver RCA label, and some on white. I'm not aware of a difference in value between the two variants, which otherwise look identical.
