Abbott invites Costello to his birthday party. Sam Shovel solves, "The Case Of The Thief Who Stole The Hamburgers From The Lunchroom," or, "He was a short-order crook."

Followed by The Magnificent Montague starring Monty Wooley, originally broadcast April 6, 1951, 73 years ago, Gambling. Montague takes on a local gambling ring. 

Then The Jack Benny Show, originally broadcast April 6, 1952, 72 years ago, Jack opens his Swimming Pool.  Jack opens his swimming pool, and then visits the dentist.

Followed  by Suspense, originally broadcast April 5, 1951, 73 years ago, Murder in G Flat starring Jack Benny. A meek piano tuner's bag of tools is switched in the subway with a bag filled with $25,000.  Benny’s first of hour appearances on Suspense. 

Then Suspense,  originally broadcast April 5, 1954, 70 years ago,  Grand Theft starring David Niven. A gentleman planning insurance fraud files a claim on a jewel robbery that never happened. In fact, the jewels never even existed!

Followed by Suspense, originally broadcast April 5, 1955, 69 years ago, Zero Hour by Ray Bradbury, starring Isa Ashdown and narrated by John Dehner.  The classic tale about "Drill" and the game of "Invasion."

Counterspy operative Peters is shot in the head while filling out a security questionnaire with a famous European jet engine scientist. Only a famous brain surgeon, who happens to be in Venezuela, can possibly save the agent's life!   

Followed by Candy Matson starring Natalie Masters, originally broadcast April 4, 1949, 75 years ago, The Donna Dunham Case. Candy solves a jealous-lover murder and nearly falls victim herself.  This show may be either a preview or an audition, as the show didn’t begin running on the West Coast network of NBC until June of 1949.

Finally The Adventures of Superman, originally broadcast April 4, 1941, 83 years ago, Last of the Clipper Ships. Superman rescues Jimmy Olsen and "The Whistler," but there's another "Whistler!"

Followed by Have Gun Will Travel starring John Dehner as Paladin, originally broadcast April 3, 1960, 64 years ago, Shanghai Is a Verb.   Hey Boy has disappeared from the Barbary Coast. Bubonic plague and a shanghai ensue.

Followed by Let George Do It starring Bob Bailey and Virginia Gregg, originally broadcast April 2, 1951, 73 years ago, The Eight Ball.  The mayor and two other respected citizens of Summer Springs has called for George Valentine. George is offered $1000 to not take the case, then finds a dead body named George Valentine has already arrived!

Then The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, originally broadcast April 4, 1945, 79 years ago, The Amateur Mendicant Society.   A group of "wealthy eccentrics" who enjoy dressing as beggars, hires Sherlock Holmes to solve the murder of one of the members. As a time bomb ticks, Holmes learns of a plot against the Prime Minister!

Followed by Gangbusters, originally broadcast April 2, 1955, 69 years ago, The Case of the Mistreated Lady.  Roger Kensell picks up two hitch-hikers who kill him. They later beat up their girl friend Marie.

Finally The Adventures of Superman, originally broadcast April 2, 1941, 83 years ago, Last of the Clipper Ships. Jimmy Olsen discovers a stowaway, fights with him, and both boys fall overboard!.

Then the Great Gildersleeve starring Willard Waterman, originally broadcast March 31, 1954,  70 years ago, Two Girls Again.  Gildersleeve is dating two different girls, exotic Marie, and his old standby, Grace Tuttle. 

Followed by Abbott and Costello, originally broadcast March 31, 1949, 75 years ago, There’s Good Booze Tonight.   What better show to remind one that tomorrow is April Fool's Day? Sam Shovel solves, "The Case Of The Gorgeous Blonde Model Who Fell Into A Vat Of Whiskey," or, "There's Good Booze Tonight." Costello announces that there will be a lightweight championship boxing match (with Ike Williams) on May 26th for "a very worthy cause."

Followed by The Adventures of Nero Wolfe starring Sydney Greenstreet, originally broadcast March 30, 1951, 73 years ago, The Case of the Tell-Tale Ribbon.  A strange note with five hundred dollars leads to a case of poisoning in a very strange household.  

Finally Lum and Abner, originally broadcast March 30, 1942, 82 years ago, Lum Brings Back Diogenes.  While Abner plans to have a "closing out" sale and move to Mexico, Lum walks in the door, and so does Cedric and Diogenes Smith!
