  • Trump And Nixon

Trump and Nixon: Two self-labelled 'law-and-order' presidents - who both were/are crooks. And publicly denied/deny it. Throw in Ronald Reagan, our third modern-day law-and-order president, with his Iran-Contra Scandal and the cocaine smuggling along with guns and money and our supposed enemy in the Ayatollah Khomeini reign of the 1980s, the country of Iran. All three presidents acted as if they were above the law.

Trump and Nixon actually had a correspondence going on pre-social media, with handwritten letters.  Many of these are being preserved in the Richard Nixon Library. The letter exchange continued for about ten years in the 1980s into early 1994, when Nixon died in April. They shared a distrust of the media, a desire to maximize TV ratings, the idea of using people as 'props,' etc.* John Dean, a central figure in revealing the depth and deceit of the Watergate election scandal of 1972 and thereafter, was Nixon's White House counselor. He thinks these cronies were 'two authoritarian personalities who would have a natural affinity for each other."**

If you look a little deeper, Trump wanted to convince Nixon to move into his Trump Tower building (TT) on Fifth Avenue. To make it look more attractive to other wealthy possible patrons. Nixon was living in NYC at the time, about four miles away from TT. Nixon never did make the move, as his wife Pat had a stroke during the time Trump was working on him to do so. Trump did not attend Nixon's funeral.

Deep Throat was Bernstein and Woodward's secret Watergate contact during that scandal. They would meet under cover of night or the concrete in underground parking garages at 2 in the morning.

  • He Doesn't Care About You

Trump only cares about one person: himself. He revels in rallies. Where people don't wear masks, and pack themselves together. While the number of new Covid cases keeps rising, setting records almost every day, along with hospitalizations.  And with his administration doing as bad as it is with Covid, he lies to his followers over and over again, lately telling them "We're rounding the corner."  Do these people read or watch the news? Don't they realize how badly he is lying? 47 out of 50 states have rising numbers of new Covid cases today. Have they heard that Trevor Lawrence, the best college football player in the country has just tested positive for Covid? He's not playing against Boston College and maybe not the next week against Notre Dame. His symptoms initially are reported as mild. But what if he transmitted it to his teammates or perhaps to older people that he has met out in the real world?

Donald Trump, a man without a moral anchor. Sabotaging the post office so you should NOT mail in your mail-in ballots anymore. You've got to go vote in person now. Trump is sabotaging our right to vote - by mail if people wish; his posse of n'er-do-wells are threatening not to count main-in votes in several counties in Pennsylvania, a crucial 'battleground' state. How have we allowed this to happen to our country? How can people vote against their own best interests, including those of democracy? Trump an autocrat wannabe. But if he loses he keeps talking about having to leave the country. Because prison awaits? . . .

Many of you are aware that when he stepped into Air Force One to leave Nebraska behind him, he left many people in the lurch on the ground that had attended his rally, without transportation to get them back home on a freezing night. 30 buses-worth of supporters whom the supported demon cared nothing for . . .

  • Unrepentant Republican (Kristi Noem - South Dakota Governor) (Written 4-18-20)

Covid-19 is hitting its highest heights in the USA. And of all the places on Earth, the two Dakotas, North and South, are leading the charge, with the highest per capita incidence of new Covid cases. Kristi Noem, South Dakota's Governor, rules her desolate state fiefdom. With her unrepentant approach to mitigating Covid-19's relentless march across her state. Which is no masks, no mitigation. Stubborn. Defiant. Unrepentant.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is telling his rallyists that as far as Covid goes, we are turning the corner.

How can his followers actually believe him on this one? If they watch TV they have to know that the Covid-19 Pandemic in USA is the worst it has ever been. Liar. Pathological Liar. Trump. Leading our country into apocalypse.

    Amazing! isn't it?!?

Meanwhile tomorrow Oct 27 2020, Mitch McConnell intends to bring up a vote to confirm the other unrepentant Republicans' Supreme Court judgeship hijack. This can indeed be stopped if the Democrats in the Senate stand up tall in unison to stop this unjust thrust into the heart of our democracy. After Barack Obama was told in mid-March 2016 that he wouldn't get a hearing for anyone he nominated for SCOTUS replacement of the late Antonin Scalia because it was 'too close to the election' 8 months away in the future. And now this rule bait-and-switch a week before the election!! A vote heralded to come possibly tomorrow. Filibustering daily, one Senator after the other, until Inauguration Day Jan. 20th, along with saying "I OBJECT!!" to any asking for 'unanimous consent' during the Senate days until Inauguration Day, can blow the doors closed on this SCOTUS game being played unfairly. But the tools are there. The Democrats must use them. With intense determination and devotion to our country. To save us from our own lack of integrity, and/or lack of grit to do this like hardy boisterous soldiers! As laid out by the Indivisible Organization: https://indivisible.org/resource/i-object-withholding-consent-and-filibustering

  • Abandon The Reverence

It must be getting a bit thin - the Reverence.  For Donald Trump. With Covid-19 the worst it has been so far in America. And Trump just lies as if he has no idea of what the facts are and the charts show, saying 'we're turning the corner . . . .' Lie Lie Lie A reflex he has, as natural as breathing. Breathing lies. And never admit to any mistakes. Thank you, Roy Cohn!

'Abandon The Reverence' is today's very short Trump Poem, esp for Bernie!

  • Idealistic Leaders

Wouldn't it nice to have peace in the White House? Instead of chaos and the casting of blame and hate to violate anyone and everyone not on Donald Trump's wavelength?

  • 38 Trademarks

38 Trademarks applied for by Donald Trump were approved by China, after he was elected President. Spring Chang was Trump's Beijing-based lawyer for the transactions.

Emoluments Clause in the Constitution, just in case you can't quite recall it word for word:

From Article I, Section 9:  No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any KIng, Prince, or foreign state.

I don't know where a Queen or Princess would fit in.

    Don't worry: they'd be representative(s) of a foreign state.

  • You Have To Believe What You See And Hear

You can't continue to be fooled by the demagogue, the cult leader, who tells you to believe him, not what you see and/or hear. With your own functioning senses.

    A spiritual poem.

'You Must Believe What You See And Hear' is today's Trump Poem.

  • Preet Bharara

As Donald Trump freaks out, holding his maskless rallies and tweeting about how he could garner multimillion dollar donations from corporations for favors he could do for them, it is a good time to commemorate Preet Bharara, former US Attorney for the Southern District of NY. The New York Times called him one of the "nation's most aggressive and outspoken prosecutors of public corruption and Wall Street Crime" during his tenure.

Bharara had been asked to remain in his post by the Trump transition team in November 2016, but on 2nd thought decided to fire him instead in March 2017 as he might be investigating the Trump Organization, operating out of Manhattan, in the heart of the Southern District of New York.

'Preet Bharara' is today's Trump Poem of the Day. It is included with many of these podcast poems in '"Believe Me" - Trump Poems Volume 1,'  which is available in both hard copy and ebook form from the various usual sources.

  • Short Attention Spans

Well, we made it to the future! And look at where we find ourself. Too much technology, some people don't even know their own phone numbers. We have to rely on our phone, atrophying our memory. Impairing our ability to think? Be critical of what is transpiring before our eyes. There so many lies to weed through. Especially those from our President. Who hit the 20,000 mark back in mid July. The Washington Post has been tallying them up. I'll post the new count when I read the upcoming report.

Meanwhile, Trump is so bad, Michael Cohen in his book 'Disloyal' discusses how Trump believes his own lies. He keeps repeating them over and over and over to himself and the sycophants around him.

So here we are today, partially because too many of us have 'Short Attention Spans'  - - today's Trump Poem.

  • Exiled To Siberia

Getting closer to the elections, our candidates are out on the campaign trail. Trump at his rallies. Saying anything that comes into his head to please and excite his base of followers. A stream of consciousness emerging from his lying mouth, wherefrom over 20,000 lies and false claims have been spread to those in earshot of his voice. Yesterday saying if he loses to Joe Biden, who he said was the worst presidential candidate ever in the history of the USA (projecting again), maybe he should leave the country. Why did he offer such words? Freudian slip? That would make many Americans very happy. But there has to be more behind his off the cuff remark than a mere question lacking significant context. He does owe $410 million to someone or some entity. There's the moneylaundering allegations sloshing around in the background. There's the Russian hacking of our elections during the last four years that Trump denied at Helsinki in front of the whole world. Trusting the word of a murderous KGB-trained dictator over our own intelligence services!

Remember what Trump said about firing the NFL players who kneeled during the playing of the national anthem? That they were SOB's? Angering many men who risk bodily injury every day on the football field to entertain us fans. We should all know that Colin Kaepernick started the act of kneeling to honor the fallen, as they do when a military person has fallen. As he was thinking and respecting the terrible racist killings of black people by police guns.

Yes, there actually is a Siberian basketball league that attracts foreign players, including black Americans!

    'Exiled To Siberia'  -  It could happen! . . . .
