A fish-stall in the Wuhan market, New Year’s Eve 2019. Momo (Barbie Wu) visits her GonGon (Francis Jue) with a secret. When tragedy strikes, Momo takes off to see the world and finds herself in Atoosa's (Kristina Haddad) empty cafe in a strangely empty airport in Tehran. Written by Hansol Jung and Hilary Bettis and directed by Josh Hecht.
It is midnight in a two bedroom flat in Tehran. Babak (Doren Elias) finds Atoosa (Kristina Haddad) awake on the futon in the living room. After conflict and consideration, Babak leaves in the middle of the night to Milan where his lover Hayder (Amir Arison) is waiting to embrace him.
It's March 1, 2020, and Mar-a-Lago waitress Penelope (Cristi Miles) confides in visiting Opera Singer, Hayder (Amir Arison) who introduces her to Claudia the Pangolin (Val Landrum). Then, we're transported to a prison where Penelope discusses the truth with a Hollywood Screenwriter named Dan (Dan Kitrosser).
The next day, Dan (Dan Kitrosser) has an ominous phone conversation with Claudia the Pangolin (Val Landrum) from his mildewed roadside motel just outside of LA city limits. We’re then transported back to Wuhan in the dead of night where Mingxia (Mia Katigbak) stares at her father’s empty seafood stall when suddenly, Claudia appears.
Our story comes to an end when Momo (Barbie Wu) returns to Wuhan where her mother Mingxia (Mia Katigbak) is preparing to re-open the family stall for the first time in months. But when one adventure ends, another completely different adventure can begin. Stick around after the final episode for a post show conversation with Portland based Theatre Scholar, Daniel Pollack-Pelzner and Profile Theatre Artistic Director, Josh Hecht.
