Toronto Maple Leafs legend Borje Salming passed away today at the age of 71 after a 4 month battle with ALS.  As well, we look ahead to the Canucks games on the weekend, and we give away a pair of tickets.

The Canucks kicked off their three-game road trip in style by beating the defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche by a score of 4-3.

Spencer Martin was solid in goal and Sheldon Dries, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Ethan Bear all had 2 point nights.

It doesn't get any easier for the Canucks, as they prepare to face the defending Cup champions Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night.

The Canucks gave up a 4-2 third period lead and lost 5-4 to the Vegas Golden Knights at Rogers Arena.  Despite the loss, the game was very entertaining and even included two disallowed goals.  

The Canucks had their most complete victory of the season on Friday night against the Kings.  They face a tougher divisional opponent Monday night when they face Vegas.

Led by Bo Horvat's three points, the Canucks defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-4 on the final game of their five game road trip.  They finish the swing with a 2-3 record and are 5-9-3 overall.

The Canucks lost 5-2 in Boston in a game that saw both teams go 2 for 6 on the power play.  Andrei Kuzmenko was a healthy scratch and Vasily Podkolzin only played two minutes before fighting and then leaving the game.

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced that Tanner Pearson underwent successful hand surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks.  This creates a huge opportunity for both Vasily Podkolzin and Nils Hoglander.
