Recognising the role of simulation in testing workplace transition (Adler et al 2009) and the recommendation for the use of simulation to improve electronic medical record use (Mohan et al 2017), simulated scenarios were used to prepare for the change to integrated electronic medical records (ieMR) at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Fifteen inter-professional and inter-departmental ieMR simulation exercises were conducted as part of the health service's preparation for digital transition.

Gold Coast Health piloted a shared governance business model in the orthopaedics department, granting clinical departmental leads with direct accountability for achieving agreed outcomes, supported by increased financial and HR delegations. The Maternity and Antenatal Telehealth Service of Central Queensland is unique in their adoption of digital pathways that connect antenatal high-risk women in rural and remote areas to the hub site in Rockhampton. The three phases of this project included the development and implementation of antenatal telehealth services, high risk antenatal telehealth clinics and CTG co-signing by telehealth.
