Covid-19 message on Jeremiah 8

Let's make up a list of questions they must have been asking--1. How shall I provide food and shelter--2. What will become of my family if I don't survive--3. How shall I personally endure sufferings and depravation--4. How shall I face this without complaining, or blaspheming God--5. I'm afraid my faith will fail and I will make shipwreck of my testimony of Christ and the gospel.-6. How will I bear the shame before friends -family--7. How will I testify of God's goodness--8. How will I stand in the Lord's church as a sufferer if I fail to worship and serve God--9. How will I face doubts- Satan- The taunts of the ungodly--10. Will there ever be an end of these trials--11. Will I carry this to the grave--12. Will I finally be saved for heaven-

I want to speak to you about the most important thing of all in the gospel -- Faith. Not just about faith in general but the type of faith that saves the soul - this is called saving faith. -There is no sin which can damn the man who believes on the gospel of God's dear Son and nothing can save the man who will not believe.--The question is not, Do you love the Lord Jesus, but do you believe on Him and do you have saving faith in Him- Faith justifies- not love. Rom 5-1.

Christianity is an enigma. It is the law of opposites. It is full of contradictions to the carnal thinking of fallen men.--What man finds attractive God can abhor.--What is outwardly beautiful can be full of inward corruption and stench.--Humanism defaults to pride.--Christianity calls for humility.--God's way up is down. That means that it required humiliation for the Son of God to redeem sinners.--I was thinking about an introduction for this text, when there on my desk was a magazine cover with a woolly lamb with its four feet tied together with a rope. The poor lamb's nose was outstretched resting passively on the floor. It had come to total submission with its captivity.--The picture of that sheep, with its wool, the horns, the four tied feet and all its fight gone out of it - whispered submission. A lamb, a victim waiting for death - what could be more pathetic.

Repentance works through faith revealing sin for the offence it caused God.

Why is there a direct connection between the persecution of the church and evangelism-

You wouldn't want to be in a church where the Lord's name was despised, or where he is rejected.-But that is what you do expect in the world. Every generation of men born into the world have low esteem of a suffering Saviour. They have no heart for the name of Jesus and will rise up to persecute Him and His church.- That is what we are to expect.-So, the truth is this- THE SMALL RECEPTION OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST MAKES IT GENUINE - THE REAL THING.
