God knows that we are not meant for constant battle. There are times when we must put off the armour and find rest for our souls. So, in ch. 15-2-4 in particular we get a little sense of heaven.--Oh, what will it be to be there- I remember over a year ago I wanted to preach more about heaven and decided on taking on this study of the book of revelation. It is the best way to learn about heaven. Study the book about eternal things.--We do well to learn more about our future home. We are going to spend all eternity there, so it is never wasted time to learn what it will be like.

When we go to the cross in faith and devotion we will find power to die to sin. The cross is God's sin-killing power to every believer in Christ.

The Lord's prayer is safe ground for Christians at the beginning of a New Year.

Many people are looking for guidance for life at this juncture when the calendar year turns over. Some consider this a crossroads - what direction shall you go---So many people in this world are profoundly lost. Lost in the darkness of their own minds and cannot find their way. Multitudes are deceived by sin, or wilfully falling into the foolish paths of popular worldly ways - they are based on pride, feel good therapies, philosophies falsely so called. They are ditches that take people off the good path, of God's perfect will.--So we will start with this sound and solid prayer petition, -Thy Kingdom Come.-

The wise men followed the star because it was -His- star and they wanted to worship him. It was not an experiment.

The sweetest name on earth was given by the angel to Joseph. It is no ordinary name, but the name of the Saviour of the world.

I will call this text Paul's sudden blast of theology. He moves radically from the mundane topic of church government to the mystery of godliness.--By the mystery of godliness, He means the revelation of God's way to make sinners godly. That's what the gospel is. The gospel scheme is God's way of taking a filthy sinner and presenting him one day in glory without spot and without blemish.--How can it be- To the mind of man it is a mystery. The gospel is a fantastic freaky notion. Why would God work contrary to his own character and stoop so low to pick up a worthless worm out of the dunghill of sin to bring him or her into heaven-
