Coincidentally my birthday and the six month anniversary of my little DJ podcast, Club Kerry NYC, occurs on June 16.  So on this occasion I have taken the best of two mixes that were in production and combined them into this body rockin' birthday mix. If you have never downloaded one of my sets then this is the one you want to start with. All of these tunes are favorites right now and I simply do not know which is my fave. It has a number of the components I enjoy such as The Freemason's, Digital Dog, a good remake in Straight Up, Ladyhawke, Lifelike, male and female vocals, uplifting beats, good melodies, and of course some great mixing. Ladies and gentlemen, let me present to you a new kind of go go. This isn't your father's disco! I love this creation. Just in time for Memorial Day, that upcoming beach trip or lazy sunny day at Sheep's Meadow in Central Park. It starts out hot, then cools slightly midway, only to build up again.

My fave tune is saved for last in Lonely Girl (Gareth Emery Remix) by Above & Beyond presents Oceanlab. Easily going to be one of the hottest tunes this summer. It's uplifting trance by the master Gareth Emery and veterans in Above & Beyond with Oceanlab. Good stuff!

French dj/producer Lifelike (Laurent Ash) has a new wave electro club sound that is a fave of mine. Check out his outstanding mix on this set on track five, Born Again Runner by The Energies, as well as This Boy's in Love by The Presets on my previous set Let's Hear it for The Boys Part 1 . As often, a few remakes or updates grace my set list (See also Forgiveness, NYC is Burning!, & Sunrise After Dark). Born To Be Alive by Disco Kings vs 7th Heaven (Track #1) updates the fun classic with a current disco filtered sound to great success. The Macutchi mix of  Shannon's Let The Music Play (track #4) also updates the classic tune for today.

Make sure not to miss my mashup of the Madonna vocal from Miles Away with the outstanding tune by Passive Progressive towards the end of track #7, Hide Away, becoming track #8. Enjoy!

I've been listening to this set while jogging and running in Central Park. It's full of energy, ups & downs, and some outstanding melodies. You will be hooked from the onset at the piano intro cause "I wouldn't stop it if I could" (track #1, Love Takes Over by David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland). My favorite track (#3) at the moment is Falling Anthem (Bad Boy Bill Extended Mix) featuring Alyssa Palmer while the best Pussycat Dolls i've heard in quite some time with I Hate This Part (Dave Aude Club Mix, track #6), a soring trance in Undo the Silence (David Forbes Remix) by Pulser (track #7) and the uplifting second fave tune in Forgiveness by Wamdue Project featuring Jonathan (track #10) (see lyrics below).

I guess I like a good remake yet again and Teardrops by Diamond Cut (track #4) fill that need. Not to mention something old can be something new in a new mix of the September tune Can't Get Over by Figoboy (track #2).

Also don't miss Not Alone (Deadmau5 Remix) by Gianluca Motta Featuring Molly. Deadmau5 is among my fave dj/producers and is often imitated. This particular track may be about a year old but I'm happy to finally find a place for it in one of my sets. Enjoy!

Your shoes will be tapping or rather dancing to the sound of this set (Shoes by Tiga, track #2). And just who is that uncredited female voice talking on this track? Hmmm. Nobody seems to know for sure. This track is about '4 minutes' long, just plain fun and 'hard candy' to your ears. More like this please, Madge and Tiga. The Hard(ly) Candy phase is over!

The Freemasons return with Sophie Ellis-Bexter on my fave tune of this moment with a leaked edit of Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer (track #4). I understand it sees a proper release very soon. A summer anthem I predict.  I look forward to the remixes. In the mean time, enjoy my little extended version.

Digital Dog shows up yet again on my playlist. Brits Steve Cornish and Nick Mace make up Digital Dog and are one of those rare DJ/producers that can take an okay song and turn it into greatness. Another case in point: Chemistry by Velvet (track #5).

A great song does not always have to have vocals. Miami to Altanta by Pryda (Track #8) is a bit more progressive than what is on most of my sets but is so good. Give it a chance. I decided to keep the progressive sounds coming for the next few minutes with lots of energy until the all too fun neo-disco closer The Bitch is Back by Warren Clarke (Track #12). You may find yourself wanting more so just press repeat. Enjoy!

New York City is burning with the sound of these beats. Or at least it should be! Spring is finally here and this is your soundtrack. Ladyhawke starts us out with a fab new mix of Paris is Burning by Simmons & Christopher while Sainte Etienne return on track #2 with my favorite tune of the moment in Method of Modern Love. These two tunes were just meant to be together. You will be repeating these two I guarantee it. I certainly have.

Revenge of the 80's! I find myself enjoying some remakes again (see Sunrise After Dark) and have included three of them. Send Me an Angel was a huge 80's hit for me originally by Real Life and this version by Lovematic (D & F Mix) does not have a male vocal like the original but is still quite good (track #3). Blue Monday by Kurd Maverick (track #8) is another timeless 80's classic originally by New Order. Any 80's music fan has to have these two tunes. The third remake, This is Your Life, is from 90's band Banderas but remade by 80's group 7th Heaven! (track #11). Good stuff.

I consider the song Back in Your Head (Tiesto Remix) by Tegan & Sara to now be a classic (track #7). Tiesto did a great job with this. If you have never heard this tune then you should.

If you remember the huge hit song Rapture by iiO from back in 2001 then you know the voice of Nadia Ali. Her vocals meld wonderfully in Love Story with the energy mix by Andy Moors on track #9.

Each of the tunes on this set are stellar. Quite possibly one of my favorite sets. Enjoy!

I read once where a music critic said that electronic music doesn't have any emotional heart. They didn't know what they were listening to. Lyrics or not. Unlike the last few sets this one is a bit emotionally dark at times but the beats are just as good. Just wait for those few tunes to lift your spirits. Thus a sunrise after dark (from track 5 Sunday Morning by Miqro & Maiqel). Otherwise, keep your ears tuned for two classics exquisitely remade for 2009 (Teardrop by Elize - Originally by Massive Attack, and Ain't Nobody by Kay & Stoxx featuring Mary Geras - Originally by Chaka Khan). Enjoy!
