We must constantly remember to live godly lives by following the prophetic word which prepares us for Christ’s coming.

All who know Christ will surely display his virtues, since the absence of these reveals moral blindness and apostasy, but their increase proves Christ has chosen and powerfully called us into his eternal kingdom…and we must diligently pursue this proof!

If we’re to be effective missionaries for Christ, we must be thrilled with the church and its unique role in advancing Christ’s kingdom.

If we’re to be resilient workers for Christ’s kingdom – never offline and always bearing the cross – we must know the comfort that comes only from God’s abiding presence with us through the mediation of His Son.

If we’re to be effective workers for Jesus Christ in building His eternal community, we must never go offline, but joyfully serve His church 24/7/365.

If we’re to be useful to Christ and build His eternal city, we must resolve as Jesus did to give it all up every day, which is the mark of real citizenship.

Anything worth longing for is worth working for and if we’re to be useful workers for the city which is to come, we must first be citizens of that city.

Even the best version of the City of Man, i.e., the restored city of old Jerusalem, proves a failure, doomed to degradation and destruction, and therefore designed to deepen our longing for the eternal city, the heavenly Jerusalem, the City of God.

Through the New Covenant in Jesus Christ, God is preparing for Himself a people fit to dwell in the heavenly city, where they will rejoice in His presence forever.

The work of building the city of God is taxing, dangerous work and Nehemiah profiles and prophesies what it takes to finish this glorious kingdom work.
