The nation, exiled now under Persia, requests release via Daniel in accordance with God’s promise in Jeremiah, and God promises a permanent release, the ultimate year of Jubilee.

As we eagerly long for the full coming of the Kingdom, our faith ought to express itself in prayer that is increasingly concerned with the advancement of God’s salvation purposes in Christ.

Prayer is the language of saving faith, by which faith continues to lay hold of a salvation already given but not yet fully realized.

Believers in Christ will surely endure great persecution & opposition because we share in the suffering of Christ until the Kingdom of God is finally come. Daniel’s vision should sober & steel us: the promised pain is no sign of defeat but a portent of final victory.

With the inauguration of God’s kingdom, dominion has been given to Christ and His church, not only to subdue the nations through the gospel universally proclaimed, but to subdue sin through the gospel truly embraced.

Jesus Christ has dominion over the nations now, a dominion we share with Him, and He through us is plundering each nation until He saves every one of His people, that number that no man can count.

We have been given spiritual dominion over the nations that we might present to our Glorious God and Magnificent Savior men from every tribe and tongue and people.

Based on the Son of Man’s death, burial, resurrection and ascension, believers have been given God’s kingdom with all authority, being [re]commissioned to fill/recreate the earth with God’s glorious presence and image through the gospel and amid persecution.

Since God has miraculously delivered and vindicated His distinguished servant Jesus, thus establishing the certainty of His kingdom, fully devote yourself to citizenship in this kingdom without fearing the schemes of your adversaries.
