Throughout the Scriptures are promises that Emmanuel will come again to save, judge, and reign, and His people are marked by love for His return.
The presence of God, lost to us in sin, has been restored to believers through the coming of Jesus Christ, whose saving work conquers sin to secure life in God’s presence forever.
The promise of Emmanuel is the promise of light to deliver sinners from the darkness of sin and death, a promise designed to stimulate trust in the merciful, covenant-keeping God.
The Kingdom of God is steadily gaining ground, and those who are not willing to receive the King of the Kingdom will be shut out into eternal judgment.
Those who do not repent from their sins and believe on Christ will be cut down by Christ.
Jesus’ coming to culminate His kingdom is near at hand, so be ready now for His return.
The solemn duty of all pastors (and elders) is to proclaim the gospel incessantly, firmly, patiently, and urgently to protect the sheep from losing it and their souls.
