On the heels of gross idolatry, the LORD mercifully dwells among sinners because of the intercession of Moses, who directs our eyes to the ultimate intercessor for sinners: the Lord Jesus Christ.
The priests brought Israel with them into the Tabernacle, but not before the priests’ sins were dealt with by bloody death. More gloriously, Jesus Christ brings His people to God and atones for us with His spotless blood.
The Tabernacle, where God dwelled in the center of the nation of Israel, points to the One Who tabernacled among us, the Lord Jesus Christ. Are He and His dwelling, the church, at the center of your life?
The LORD gives the law to His people, not so that we may have life by our law-keeping, but so we might live out the obedience of faith in the One Who kept God’s law perfectly, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord comes to meet his people and speak to them as his treasured possession through the mediating work of Jesus Christ; therefore, listen to him with a heart that is sensitive to sin.
