We’ve hit the point in the season where the girls are headed out of town. Carrie and Samantha are headed to California. On the train. Carrie’s got a book appearance and is hoping to casually reconnect with Big and Sam is hoping to ward off a boredom driven mid-life crisis of some sort. Harry and Charlotte cross the line between friendship and more than…but she’s not ready for anything like a relationship.
Kerry is doing the coaching this week as she and Becky discuss how coaches might help identify behavior that is authentic as opposed to borrowed; whether Carrie really can have Big without strings; what Sam’s midlife crisis is really about; and, what the story of Charlotte and Harry really is so far.

This episode is all about why we believe criticism. Carrie’s getting all the reviews – by the New York Times of her book and by woman who dated Aidan after her of her dating style. Brady won’t stop crying and Miranda is exhausted and can’t help but see it all as a review of her as a mother. Charlotte is finally getting the divorce done, but first she has to face Bunny’s review – with the help of her lawyer (HARRY!). And Sam babysits….?
Becky is doing the coaching this week as she and Kerry discuss how you can test criticism for truth; the importance of defining how you will know if you are successful; and, what might be keeping Sam in the space of Brady’s biggest critic.

Carrie is gearing up for her celebration without a partner after learning that fellow author Jack Berger isn’t single after all.
Kerry is doing the coaching this week as she and Becky discuss what it means that Carrie feels lonely; what true celebration and congratulation look like; and, how Carrie can communicate the kind of empathy she needs.

Carrie is worried about her book cover – and the judgement that might come as a result. And Sam is sick of the judgement she feels from Carrie about her most recent escapades.
Becky is doing the coaching this week as she and Kerry discuss why Sam might be more judgmental of herself after her most recent break-up; what is stopping Charlotte from accepting her current reality; and, how Carrie wants to be seen in the big wide world.

This week is all about gambling as the girls take the show on the road to Atlantic City for Charlotte’s Old Maid…er, um, 36th Birthday. Miranda is just gambling. Samantha’s convinced Richard’s cheating, she’s no longer willing to gamble on his loyalty, so she dumps him. Charlotte is back to gambling on the possibility of love. And Carrie is gambling on nothing but friendship.
Kerry is doing the coaching this week as she and Becky discuss what kind of lives these characters might have with and without a partner; what we might miss out on when we protect ourselves from hope; and, how things might look different if we entered experiences like dating accepting that we might get hurt or that it might not work out.

This episode is all about the struggle to figure out what we believe. Carrie’s got a book deal and she’s trying to decide whether she’s cynical or hopeful about love. Miranda is baptizing Brady – even though she knows she doesn’t really believe in religion because she does believe in family. Samantha is trying to believe in Richard. And Charlotte is trying to believe that she can believe in love despite what happened with Trey.
Becky is doing the coaching this week as she and Kerry discuss the boundaries Miranda might need in her relationship with Steve, how Carrie can embrace the grey instead of being stuck in black and white; and, how Charlotte can honor her feelings even if they aren’t the feelings she wants to have.

Charlotte has decided to date again (spoiler, her date decides they are incompatible). Sam is trying the relationship-life on for size (spoiler, monogamy might not be for Richard after all). This episode is all about the ways we do what we think we should even though we don’t really want to – Samantha invites a special guest to join her and Richard (something she’s not too excited about), Miranda agrees to let Charlotte host her baby shower (something she’s not too excited about), and Carrie is trying to write a column for Vogue about fashion instead of her usual fare (something that she’s not too excited about).
Becky is doing the coaching this week as she and Kerry discuss what it might look like if Miranda were ok with her fears around motherhood, how she will know if she is a good mother, how competing feelings can co-exist, whether Carrie really has issues with men and why anyone would want an edible white chocolate peanut butter baby at their shower.
