Saying "No" to someone is tough, especially when you're a relatively new coach who hasn't made big buckets of cash yet.
When I first started coaching, I would talk to everyone and anyone who wanted to have a conversation.
This means, in addition to bringing on a few free (practice) clients, I ended up helping a lot of people who innocently wanted to "pick my brain".
None of these people were ill-intentioned... but they didn't feel like paying me either. And why should they? I made myself available to answer any and all of their questions for free.
It was a challenging lesson for me - honestly I still struggle with people-pleasing a bit (though I've gotten much better).
In today's podcast, I'm sharing my personal struggle (and now triumph) around handling brain-pickers.
