The Coalition has shifted its language on Gaza, with the Leader of the Opposition Sussan Ley yesterday admitting there is hunger and starvation occurring on the strip after previously —  and repeatedly — dodging the question.  

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed he has spoken with Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas.

During the discussion, Mr Albanese reiterated Australia's call for immediate entry of aid into Gaza, along with a permanent ceasefire and the release of all hostages.
