Jeremiah 30-33In these chapters known as "The Book of Consolation" Jeremiah's message turns from exhortation to words of hope for the exiled people of Judah. Be encouraged as Pastor James preaches on these profound words of restoration.

Jeremiah 29:1-14In this passage we hear about the reality and pain of exile, both for God's people in Babylon, and for us today. At the same time we learn of God's promise to restore and renew His people as they faithfully serve him and wholeheartedly seek after Him. Ultimately we are reminded that God's plans and purposes for His people are good - even though it may take a while for those plans and purposes to be worked out.

Jeremiah 18:1-17In this message we hear the story of Jeremiah's visit to the potter's house. We hear of God's desire to give his people a chance for a new start but of their continued stubborn resistance. It is a resistance that will lead the people to forget God and ultimately suffer the consequences.

Jeremiah 11-15In this message from our series on the book of Jeremiah, we listen to some of Jeremiah's so-called "confessions" or "laments". In these prayers we discover heart-felt, deeply personal language that has become a model for God's people throughout the centuries. We also hear, in His responses, of a God who does not always act as we might expect or play by the rules we have established for Him.

Jeremiah 7-10In the second of our fall series on the book of Jeremiah (the first sermon was inadvertently not recorded) we reflect on the practices and problems that had led the people of Israel to break their covenant promises to God. We listen as Jeremiah speaks of empty religion, false gods and stubborn hearts, and recognize how these practices and problems seep into our lives and the Church still today.

Beginning his 15th year in ministry at Coast Community, Pastor James takes the opportunity to review the mission of our local church and to invite each person to a renewed commitment to that mission. "Our mission is to reflect the character of Christ; loving both God and people, living lives transformed by God's grace, and leading others into a relationship with Jesus." We also discuss two specific ways of living out our mission this fall - volunteering at El Camino Elementary School, and participating in the spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, fasting and prayer.

Matthew 9:35-38In this message Pastor Danny helps us to think about the call upon every follower of Jesus - to be a worker in the harvest field, helping to bring others to a relationship with Jesus.

The previous week we learned about God's preference for "tent living," though He did allow His people to build Him a temple. This week, discover how God has managed to break free from the confinds of "temple living" in order to, once again, be as free and flexible as He was when He could move about with the people in a tent.
