The way God distributes the Promised Land to His People tells you lots about what He's like and how to follow Him. And the cities of priests and cities of refuge are shadows point beyond themselves to Jesus, and show us how to relate to Him and live for Him.

You and I are built to have a deep longing for things; God, purpose, justice, rest. We also have a deep longing for a bright future - one that only God can give us.
