Codega's Codex of Curiosities

A box of NASA photographs from a small Ohio auction led one researcher to a single image that doesn't quite match the official record. Our guest, Ed, spent two decades as a rare book and document dealer working with major auction houses including Christie's and Heritage Auctions — until this discovery changed the direction of his research. Topics Discussed:

• How a rare-book auction led to a 31-binder NASA photo archive
• The story of NASA mission control engineer Scott Simkinson and his collection
• A 1965 lithograph labeled "strange object" from the Gemini 11 mission
• The cloud-pattern match between the lithograph and an original NASA photo
• How Cold War-era memos shaped NASA's photo review procedures
• The origins of the National Photographic Interpretive Center
• A power anomaly and communication gap during the Gemini 11 flight
• Reviewing 16,000 frames of film from the National Archives
• The theory that most of the visible universe is made of plasma
• Filing Freedom of Information Act requests and what came back

Stories Discussed:

• Ed describes finding 31 binders of NASA photographs at a small Ohio auction, originally catalogued under the name of NASA's first female employee at Cape Canaveral.
• He walks through matching the cloud pattern in a 1965 "strange object" lithograph to an original Gemini 11 photograph, frame for frame.
• He reads from a declassified 1965 memo outlining how NASA photography was reviewed before release — written years before public interest in the topic existed.
• He breaks down the Gemini 11 mission transcript, where a sudden power drop and a multi-minute communication gap occurred just before a planned night-imaging experiment.
• He explains how a well-known photography skeptic's analysis ended up supporting his own conclusions about the image.

Memorable Quote: "Nobody has ever seen more than a third-generation NASA photo."

What do you do when the wilderness starts looking back?
In this episode of Codega's Codex of Curiosities, Rye sits down with Blake Botel, host of Mountain Man Explore the Truth—a man whose experiences have led him deep into the world of the unexplained.
Blake shares firsthand accounts that span the full spectrum of high strangeness: a Bigfoot encounter that changed the way he views the wilderness, a UFO sighting that defies easy explanation, an unsettling encounter with a shadow person, and a ghostly figure that appeared in a field when no one should have been there.
From strange creatures and unexplained lights to paranormal encounters that continue to raise questions, this conversation explores experiences that challenge conventional explanations and leave more mysteries than answers.
Two podcast hosts. Four extraordinary encounters. Zero easy answers.

What if the people meant to enlighten you were actually steering you? This week, the Codega sits down with Jeremy Norrie of Sky Island Storytelling — indie filmmaker, documentarian, and someone who has spent years asking uncomfortable questions on camera.
We cover mentalists who allegedly partnered with doctors to guide patients toward specific medications, the ever-present question of whether Bigfoot is flesh-and-blood or something stranger, and a compelling look at people who claim to communicate with dolphins — and why so many of them seem to be thriving.
The through-line? Don't outsource your discernment. Skepticism isn't a wall — it's a compass.

Bestselling researcher Brad Olsen joins The Codega to explore forbidden relics that may have shaped human history from the shadows — the Spear of Destiny, Holy Grail, Ark of the Covenant, and the mysterious substance called Black Goo. Were these just myths, or something far more powerful? We go deep into ancient objects of power, secret societies, esoteric traditions, and the hidden archives that certain groups don't want you to find.

What if the proof that biblical giants once walked this Earth wasn't buried in the Middle East — but right here in America's heartland?
Nicholas Daigle is the author of Genesis 6 and the Ozarks, and he didn't just study the Nephilim — he went looking for them. In this episode, Rye the Codega sits down with Nicholas to unpack the forgotten story of Rev. Sterling Price Newberry, a Baptist preacher who spent the 1930s uncovering spoke mound burials, a 7-foot skeleton arranged in a ritual cross, Aztec-style pottery, and solstice alignments along the rivers of Springfield, Missouri — discoveries that quietly disappeared from history.
From Genesis 6 to LiDAR imaging, from the Ozark hills to Monk's Mound at Cahokia, this conversation connects dots that mainstream archaeology refuses to touch.

What does it mean to carry a truth so heavy that the world isn't ready for it? Holly Baglio has lived that question her entire life.
Holly Baglio is a survivor, whistleblower, ordained minister, and former Super Soldier who spent 37 years in Black Operations programs under the Military-Industrial Complex — across the USA, UK, and Canada. Born into the MKUltra project, a subprogram of Operation Paperclip, Holly's testimony cuts through some of the darkest corners of hidden history: Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBs), trauma-based mind control, Satanic Ritual Abuse, genetic experimentation, and classified combat operations.
In this episode, Holly takes us into her extraordinary and harrowing story — from the laboratories of Josef Mengele to survival in the DUMBs, from Montauk to Buckingham Palace, from combat missions in Sarajevo to entity removal in the jungles of South America. She shares how three men — former Super Soldiers she made a childhood pact with — came back for her in 2011, and how that act of loyalty changed everything.
But this is not only a story of darkness. Holly's journey is one of profound spiritual transformation. Healed of Dissociative Identity Disorder in 2022 through divine intervention, ordained in 2018, and walking a path of purpose she calls going back for the children — Holly is a living testimony to the power of light in the deepest darkness.
She is the author of the forthcoming book Kids in a Cage, the host of Spirit Force Internet Radio, and has conducted over 100 interviews since 2016. Her mission: to expose what is hidden, to give voice to those who cannot speak, and to ignite justice for children still trapped in the systems she survived.
⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of trauma, abuse, ritual violence, and human trafficking.

A new house. A loving family. And then — a voice. Eric
Davis moved into Springhill Plantation expecting peace. What he got was a paranormal nightmare that nearly destroyed his marriage, shook his faith, and put his family face-to-face with forces they couldn't explain. When his wife Cindy heard a disembodied voice say "Hey, buddy" from an empty room, there was no more denying it. Something was in that house.
In this episode of Codega's Codex of Curiosities, Eric sits down to share the full story — the haunting, the spiritual warfare, the moments of terror, and the unshakeable faith that ultimately carried his family through. He's documented the entire experience in his book, and every chapter reads like something you wouldn't believe if he weren't telling it himself.
We talk about:
👁️ The first signs something was wrong
👁️ Why Eric hid what he was experiencing from Cindy
👁️ The voice Cindy heard out loud — and what it changed
👁️ Demons, ghosts, and the supernatural encounters at Springhill
👁️ How Christian faith became their only real weapon
👁️ The breakthrough that finally brought peace

Generational curses, real paranormal experiences, and spiritual warfare don’t always look like horror stories—they show up as patterns, trauma, and moments that don’t make sense. Psychic encounters, unseen forces, and a lingering family curse begin to blur the line between psychological struggle and something far more intentional.
After the death of her mother, Kirstyn Lazur found herself pulled into a series of experiences that challenged everything she thought she understood about reality. What started as grief slowly opened the door to psychics, unexplained encounters, and the unsettling realization that something deeper may have been at work within her family line.
Her memoir, I Was Cursed in Connecticut, explores the weight of inherited darkness, the search for healing, and the question many people avoid:
👉 Are generational curses real… or are they something designed to keep people trapped? This conversation pushes into the uncomfortable space between trauma and the supernatural—where spiritual warfare, perception, and personal experience collide.
🎯 WHAT THIS GETS INTO

• Generational curses and inherited trauma
• Real paranormal encounters and psychic experiences
• Spiritual warfare vs psychological explanations
• Unseen forces and family patterns
• Breaking cycles and finding truth
• When reality stops behaving normally

Kirstyn Lazur is the author of I Was Cursed in Connecticut, a memoir that recounts her unique and supernatural journey after the death of her mother. Long time English teacher and fitness instructor, Kirstyn has always been fascinated by the intersection of our stories and bodies. Dedicated to those who feel trapped by grief or malevolent forces, her work reminds us that truth sets us free.

What if the battle between good and evil isn't only spiritual — but biological? In this live conversation, Rye Codega of Codega's Codex of Curiosities and Brad from The Awakened Podcast dig into one of the most unsettling intersections of science and the supernatural: the possible link between parasitic infection and demonic possession.
🔬 WHAT WE COVER:
→ How parasites like Toxoplasma gondii are proven to alter human behavior, personality, and decision-making
→ Why ancient cultures interpreted physical and neurological symptoms as spiritual oppression
→ Overlapping signs between parasitic infection and classical possession symptoms → What modern researchers, theologians, and controversial thinkers are saying
→ The point where biology ends — and the unexplainable begins This is not a debate between science and faith. It's an exploration of what happens when both converge on the same question. Whether you're a skeptic, a believer, or simply someone who refuses to stop asking questions — this one will get under your skin.
🎙️ ABOUT THE HOSTS: Rye Codega explores the fringe corners of history, consciousness, and hidden knowledge at Codega's Codex of Curiosities. Brad hosts The Awakened Podcast, diving deep into spiritual truth, suppressed information, and human potential.
