Police in Virginia said a woman has been charged after she claimed at a school board meeting she would show up with loaded guns if her children were required to wear masks at school.

In the post on the department's Facebook page, authorities said Amelia King, 42 of Luray, was charged with making an oral threat while on school property Friday afternoon.

A magistrate judge released her on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

The board had been debating Covid-19 mitigation measures as the Omicron wave continues to cause significant community transmission, and in light of one of new Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin's executive orders.

A Chinese woman who was stuck at the home of her date for more than 20 days amid a Covid lockdown in the province of Xianyang has told state media that the two are now getting engaged.

“We’re happy with each other, and we are soulmates. It’s easier to get along, and our parents are happy as well,” Zhao Xiaoqing told Jimu News, a state-run news site.

The rap superstar, born Shawn Carter, is teaming up with Meek Mill, Big Sean, Fat Joe, Kelly Rowland, Yo Gotti, Killer Mike, Robin Thicke, and others as celebrity signatories on a new letter urging state lawmakers — and ultimately Gov. Kathy Hochul — to make the recently proposed bill titled “Rap Music on Trial” (S.7527/A.8681) a state law.

The legislation, first unveiled in November, successfully sailed through the Senate Codes committee on Tuesday, marking its first step toward getting a full vote on the senate floor.

Regina King's son Ian Alexander Jr. has died by suicide, PEOPLE confirms. His 26th birthday was Wednesday.

"Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian," King says in a statement sent to PEOPLE. "He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you."

Ian's death was officially ruled a suicide by the Los Angeles County Coroner, a spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE Monday.
