Nick Cannon is opening up about his final moments with his 5-month-old son, Zen.

The little boy, who Cannon, 41, shared with model Alyssa Scott, died over the weekend from a brain tumor.

On the "The Nick Cannon Show," Cannon tearfully described taking Zen to the ocean to watch the sunrise on Sunday morning. The TV personality explained that he woke up and felt drawn to the water.

“Holding my son for the last time, it was a beautiful setting,” an emotional Cannon told viewers. The family was also able to watch the sunset together.

On Wednesday, Cannon led the audience in a heartfelt prayer before starting his show: "Father, we may not understand everything but we know your purpose," he prayed. "We know we fall short of your glory, but never your grace."

He said he was feeling "numb" when he announced Zen's death.

"I'm grieving, I feel guilty on so many levels," Cannon revealed on his show. "I never wanted to exploit this. I kept it private for so long since I found out about Zen's diagnosis, out of respect for his mother, Alyssa. "

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2021/11/29/omicron-variant-symptoms-mutations-vaccines/8791946002/

While millions of Americans were enjoying Thanksgiving weekend with loved ones, health officials were sounding the alarm on a “heavily mutated” coronavirus variant emerging in South Africa.

The World Health Organization announced Friday it had designated the new strain a “variant of concern” and named it omicron.

Not much is yet known about new variant but experts say it could take hold, causing infections to surge.

“Omicron’s very emergence is another reminder that although many of us might think we are done with COVID-19, it is not done with us,” said the WHO’s director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Here’s everything to know about omicron and why Americans should take notice.

What is omicron?

The World Health Organization designated the B.1.1.529 variant a “variant of concern” Friday and named it omicron after the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet.

CHICAGO (CBS) — It was Christmas Eve, 2019, when Jaylin Stiger and his brother would experience the most traumatic moments of their lives.

“It was right before Christmas,” remembered Jaylin, who was 16 at the time and a junior at Sullivan High School. “So, you know, everybody was happy.”

As he stepped out of his family’s Rogers Park apartment, he didn’t know he’d soon be stopped by Chicago Police officers four times, and handcuffed twice, in the span of 20 minutes.

He also didn’t know around that same time, officers in the area were responding to a 911 call about a group of “Black males” who were “up to no good,” according to dispatch audio, and that they would target him and his younger brother, who were innocent.

weapon used in Michigan school shooting was purchased by suspect’s father.

‘No one should be afraid to go to school,’ Michigan’s governor says.

Inside one classroom, students barricaded the door and grabbed scissors.

‘I heard boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.’

A Times editor who attended Oxford recalls a decade-old shooting drill.

School shootings are becoming more frequent, after a lull during the pandemic.

Here’s what to know about Oxford High School.

The lost souls were all students at Oxford High.

OXFORD CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Students at Oxford High School in suburban Detroit rushed for cover and barricaded classroom doors with chairs when they heard the first weapon on Tuesday afternoon. Within five minutes, the authorities said, a 15-year-old sophomore at the school had shot 11 people, killing three of his fellow students and leaving others with critical injuries.

The authorities identified the dead as Hana St. Juliana, 14; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; and Tate Myre, 16, who died in a sheriff’s squad car while on the way to a hospital. The injured students ranged in age from 14 to 17, officials said, including three who were in critical condition and another who was in serious condition. The only adult who was shot, a 47-year-old teacher, had been discharged from a hospital.

“I was just kind of sitting there shaking,” said Dale Schmalenberg, 16, who said he was in calculus class when his teacher heard a weapon and locked down the classroom. “I didn’t really know how to respond.”

The rampage at Oxford High School, north of Detroit in Oakland County, was the deadliest shooting on school property this year, according to Education Week, which tracks such shootings and has reported 28 of them in 2021.

Students described frantically hiding in classrooms and fleeing from the school after long minutes of terror. Shaken parents rushed to a local grocery store to reunite with their children. Officials across the country issued statements of sadness and frustration, as area residents announced a vigil and prepared for funerals.
