Cody and Joe

Hurricane Florence has upended a lot of people including a couple who's getting married this weekend.  They rented a hall, beach house, catering for a wedding on the North Carolina coast.  Instead they are getting married in the hometown in West Virginia.  Check out the name of their hometown!   Cody is heading to Vegas so we came up with a Vegas Bingo card for her.  Things that will either happen or tasks she will try to complete in Vegas.  A bunch of iconic movie props are being auctioned off.  Harrison Ford's hat from "Indiana Jones," Marty McFly's hoverboard from "Back To The Future,"  If you could own one movie prop what would it be?  And in today's Good Stuff a 25 year old with down syndrome captures the hearts of Chicago Cubs fans....and he's fantastic! 

One of us is having a parking problem.  Getting it between the lines is a challenge.  How about you??  Hurrican Florence is bearing down on the Carolinas.  How is FEMA tracking the storm?  Believe it or not they're getting some help from a souther chain restaurant.  And a mom in Roseville took away her son's video games because he wasn't getting his homework done.  He says she's being unfair.  What do you say? After many comments and phone calls we hear from a teacher and then finally from the mom. 

Taco Bell was just named America's favorite mexican restaurant.  There are many terrific local Mexican restaurants.  We had people check in as to which one was the best and one was the overwhelming favorite.   Speaking of Taco Bell, a 9 year old's letter to them just landed her a sweet spot as one of the Taco Bell convention's keynote speakers...in Las Vegas....catered by the third graders favorite restaurant, Taco Bell.   Tom is finding out that there a a lot of people who hate Prius drivers.  Hear his reaction and what other people think.  And Pat has an idea for a special car show in East Sac.  

Cody is having relationship issues.  She's dating a guy from England.  His exgirlfriend found out about Cody and now she may want back in.  How would you handle this?   Tom feels like other drivers are picking on him because now he's driving a Prius (he might be right).  Carla from Galt called in to defend Prius drivers.  And it's September 11th.  17 years ago today 9/11 happened.  We asked what you remembered most about it.  We had many heartfelt answers including some from firefighters who were immediately sent to ground zero and military men and women who were deployed shortly after. 

Both Pat and Tom try to shake off opening season losses by their teams....49ers for Pat, Seahawks for Tom.  Cody's was ahead of us because she's and Eagles fan!   The Goot Stuff spotlights a high school senior by the name of Kaylee Foster who was her high school's homecoming queen.  She also kicked 2 field goals and the game winning extra point in her football team's game.   There was another mountain lion sighting by where Pat lives (so much for the bike trail!).  And we're sure you've had facebook friend requests from co-workers.  How did you handle them?  

Burt Reynolds passed away yesterday at the age of 82.  In his day he was IT!  What movie did he do which beat Star Wars at the box office?   Ever get a text meant for somebody else?  Loyal listener Tamara did, and how she handled it is classic!  We LOVE towns and businesses with strange names.  We found one that sounded too good to be true....there's no way this can be real.  So we called.  And guess what....it's real and all three of used laughed so hard we cried.  Hope you like the call! 

Tom broke a rib.  How did he do it?  a) an angry fish that fought back, b) swinging a golf club, or c) angry rec league basketball guy nailed him 

In today's Good Stuff a police officer goes above and beyond to help an 89 year old woman at a gas station (this one will make you smile).   And when you were growing up did your parents ever intentionally embarrass you?  

An update on actor Geoffrey Owens (Elvin on The Cosby Show).  Tyler Perry has offered him a job.  At first he politely declined but did he change his mind?  After 26 years of working together people still can't tell us apart .... and we may have had some fun with that!  Fill in the blank:  I know ______ is bad for me but I eat it/do it anyway.  And ladies, what's the attraction with Bad Boys??  

Tom's was washing dishes at a pizza place.  Cody's was working the front desk and maintenance at a hotel.  Pat's was working at Burger Chef (think Burger King but not near as good).  What was your worst job?  College Football is back and along with that some unique (some strange, some funny) player names.  One is even named after a movie!  In today's Good Stuff the story of a 99 year old man who walks 6 miles every day to see his wife who's in the hospital.  

That 6 year old boy who got beat up and put in a hospital for allegedly standing up for his 5 year old buddy who was being bullied?  It's all a lie.  What??  Yeah.  We talk about what investigators found out and in case you contributed to the gofundme page how to get your money back.  His injuries are still very real and CPS is involved.  Pray for him....he's only 6.   The Golden One Center has a new feature: bats!  Ever get approached at work to buy candy or different items for a coworker's kid's fundraiser?  Or may it was your kid.  A high school in Chicago just came out with thee greatest opt out letter.  And a man in Cincinnati trying to get a date to the Luke Combs concert took out what is quite possibly the most entertaining and honest ad on craigslist.
