A small crowd had formed over me, holding my son's limp body.

Seconds earlier he was laying on a dog bed fashioned as a cot to keep his cold body off the cold concrete.

"Someone call an ambulance!" an onlooker shouted.

"Give them room!" exclaimed another.

Minutes seemed like hours before the EMT arrived and started to examine my son.

"What's the point?" Ever ask yourself this? Like, you're in the middle of an activity, conversation, or buying decision, and you wonder what's the point of this thing? 

For me, the trouble starts at the gym. The point of the gym (for me) is to gain more lean muscle mass and clear my head. So when I muddy that "purpose" with check email, socialize, check social, make an epic playlist, listen to audiobooks... everything suffers.

The workout suffers because I'm taking too long in between sets. The drive home suffers because I want to close the loop I opened in the audiobook I was listening to so I sit in the garage for an extra 20 minutes.

Does that make sense?
