Xaden challenges the authority to protect her while Dain betrays her. Her team win a field trip to an outpost where Violet visits her sister Mira, but Xaden can't stay away. This week, Violet keeps training in the riders quadrant and she essentially becomes an American Ninja Warrior on the gauntlet. She faces down some dragons during the Threshing and some jerk faces too! She meets her dragon(s) and learns that her dragon and Xaden's have a special relationship that will link them for a long time! Finally Violet is attacked while she's asleep and she discovers something about Andarna and Xaden does the extreme to ensure her (and his) safety.

It's our first week with Rebecca Yarros's book, Fourth Wing! We're starting with chapters 1-9. This week, we meet our main character Violet and dive deep into the world of Basgiath War College! We meet her questionable mother, her badass sister, her terrible best friend and her magnetic enemy. Violet has to try to survive her first year of college (which has a terrible death rate) and earn a dragon even though there are people who are out to kill her! But she's a smarty pants and does a pretty good job of finding her way!

It's our last week with Heir of Fire by SJM - we're finishing off chapters 54-68. This week with Celaena - we see her battle the Valg princes and her inner demons and come out on top! Her and Rowan travel to see Maeve and get some answers on the wyrdkeys before they make a bargain that changes all of their lives. Manon fights for her place as wingleader and makes an important decision that sets her down a better path. Meanwhile Chaol, Dorian and Aedion make some silly mistakes that end up costing somebody their life.

In week 4 of Heir of Fire by SJM we're reading chapters 39-53. This week is a lot about Celaena..yay! We see her slowly develop her powers and use them on bonfires. Which actually goes south and she almost boils from the inside out until Rowan saves her and takes care of her. She moves into his room and they become besties! They also find out there's an army camping nearby with creatures who want to destroy their little fortress. Manon and Abraxos take the leap off the edge to see if they have what it takes to make the crossing and Chaol and Dorian have a difficult chat where Dorian is right and Chaol is a jerk. Finally, the army attacks and Celaena makes the ultimate sacrifice to save a few people!

Sorscha and Dorian take their relationship to the next level (woooo) and Celaena hits her lowest low thanks to Rowan and finally starts to make some progress with her magic before encountering a sea monster!
