It's November 10th, National Forget-Me-Not Day, so grab your favorite style coffee and join us for another episode of Coffee Connections. Today we're brewing a conversation with Shavontana “Starr” Davis, Esq. the Founder + Executive Director for The Starr Institute. Founded in 2017, The Starr Institute seeks to fill in the gaps of initiatives designed to bring awareness and prevention, and go deeper to heal the internal pain that comes from being victimized and sexually abused. When a child is abused, part of their childhood innocence dies, their body becomes numb and they are silenced. They believe in the healing powers of storytelling and giving voice to the youth who have been silenced through abuse. When youth have a voice, they can change the world!Coffee Connections is Insights with Innovators! The series is made up of short conversations with nonprofit innovators in the Atlanta area to share their missions, chat about their current successes and challenges, and close with them recommending a future guest! Our goal is to promote these organizations and help open up the dialogue on many subjects that each share.Intro music:"Learning To Say Goodbye";Performed by "Great Peacock"; off their new album "Forever Worse Better"https://www.thestarrinstitute.orghttps://www.yourrocktioneer.comhttp://coffeeconnections.live
