Let's be honest… the mental health and self-care world can get EXPENSIVE. From therapy and wellness apps to journals, books, supplements, and all the things Instagram tells us we need to feel better, it's hard to know what's actually worth it and what's just really good marketing. 😂
In this episode, we're sharing our honest opinions on what's worth the hype, what we'd probably skip, and where we think your money is best spent when it comes to mental health.
Marie mentions a resource she loves for anxiety: the DARE Workbook by Barry McDonagh, which offers practical exercises and tools for approaching anxiety and panic.

Do We Actually Practice What We Preach? 😂
We're therapists, which means we spend a lot of time talking about boundaries, coping skills, emotional regulation, and taking care of ourselves. But here's the real question… do we actually do any of those things in our own lives?!
In this episode, we're getting honest about what it's like to be therapists who are also just regular humans. Do we use the coping skills we teach? Are we actually good at setting boundaries? And do we always handle our own anxiety, relationships, and big emotions the way we'd encourage our clients to?
We're sharing some real-life moments, a few things we don't always get right, and the reality that knowing what to do and actually doing it are two very different things.
Because being a therapist doesn't mean we've got it all figured out. Sometimes we need to take our own advice, too. 😂

I’m Just a Human, Okay? 😂
We're therapists… but we're also just humans trying to live our lives. Which can get a little complicated when the people we know, the places we go, and the communities we're part of overlap with our work.
In this episode, we're talking about dual relationships in therapy—what they actually are, why therapists have to think carefully about boundaries, and what happens when you run into a client at the grocery store, see someone you know in the community, or realize your professional and personal worlds are getting a little too close.
We'll talk about the awkward moments, the ethical gray areas, and the reality of trying to maintain healthy professional boundaries while also being… well… a person who has a life outside the therapy office.
Because yes, we're therapists. But we're also wives, moms, friends, family, neighbors, community members, and people who occasionally just want to go to Target without analyzing the ethics of the situation. 😂
So where's the line? And what happens when life makes that line a little blurry?
Come hang out with us for an honest (and probably slightly awkward) conversation about being a therapist in the real world.
And remember—your story matters. Your mental health matters. 🤍
Okay, but seriously… how do you break up with your therapist?!
Maybe you don't feel like you're making progress. Maybe the relationship just doesn't feel like the right fit. Maybe your therapist said something that didn't sit right with you—or maybe you've simply outgrown the work you're doing together. And now you're sitting there thinking, “How do I tell them I don't want to come back without making this incredibly awkward?”
In this episode, we're talking all about the therapist breakup—why it happens, how to know when it might be time to move on, and how to actually have the conversation. We'll share our perspectives as therapists, some honest thoughts about what we'd want our own clients to know, and hopefully take away some of the guilt and awkwardness that can come with making a change.
Because finding the right therapist matters—and sometimes finding the right therapist means realizing that your current therapist isn't the right one anymore.
So, if you've ever ghosted a therapist because you didn't know how to say goodbye… this episode is for you. 😂
And remember—your story matters. Your mental health matters. 🤍

We just wanted to take a minute to say thank you.
Thank you for listening, sharing, laughing with us, and spending a little bit of your time with us. Starting this podcast has been such a fun (and slightly nerve-wracking!) adventure, and we're so grateful that you're here for it.
This is just the beginning, and we're so excited for all the conversations, stories, laughs, and real-life moments still to come.
Seriously—thank you for being here. We couldn't do this without you. 🤍
And remember—your story matters. Your mental health matters.
Finding a Therapist… Not Exactly Easy Sometimes. 😅
Finding a therapist can feel like a full-time job. Where do you even start? How do you know if someone is the right fit? And what happens when the consultation call goes… very, very wrong?
In this episode, we're talking honestly about our own experiences trying to find therapists—including some of the horror stories along the way. Ashlee shares a particularly memorable consult call that definitely did not go as planned, and we talk about what we've learned both as therapists and as people who have been on the other side of the search.
We'll also share practical tips for finding a therapist, what to look for, questions you can ask, and why it's okay if the first therapist you try isn't the right fit.
Finding support shouldn't feel impossible, and you deserve to feel comfortable with the person you choose to share your story with.
And remember—your story matters. Your mental health matters. 🤍
From random roommates to best friends. 🫶
In this episode, we're taking you way back to the beginning—before the therapy practices, motherhood, and everything else that life has brought our way.
We met as completely random roommates in grad school, and somehow, what started as a total coincidence turned into one of the most meaningful friendships in our lives.
We're sharing the story of how we met, what those early days of living together were actually like, and how our friendship grew through grad school, life changes, relationships, and all the messy seasons in between.
Because sometimes the people who end up becoming your people aren't the ones you planned for—they're the ones who happen to show up at exactly the right time.
Come hang out with us, hear the story of how it all started, and hopefully laugh with us along the way. 🤍
And remember- your story matters. Your mental health matters.
Welcome to our very first episode! 🎙️
Eeeeek!!!
We're kicking things off with a good old-fashioned Q&A to get to know us, Ashlee & Marie!
We both brought questions for each other.. which brought real and authentic answers.. and maybe a few tears!
We're both therapists, but we're also moms, women, friends, and humans who have some things figured out… while still having VERY many other things not so figured out.
We want this podcast to feel like you're sitting with us having an honest conversation—without the pressure to have it all together.
So grab your coffee (or your wine—we don't judge 😉), get comfortable, and come get to know us!
And remember- your story matters. Your mental health matters.
