Investing in your emotional well-being is crucial for a fulfilling life. Instead of impulsively spending your emotions, learn to invest them wisely. By doing so, you can achieve long-lasting emotional stability. Discover your path to lasting emotional well-being and take control of your life today by becoming an emotional investor, not an emotional spender.
Before introducing herself, Sarah Gwin with Huntsville Integrative Therapy said she understands that many physical and emotional experiences are interconnected. She believes in a holistic approach to wellness and works with her clients to develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and minds. Through this process, she helps clients develop tools to manage stress and other challenges that can impact daily life.
"Hello and welcome to the Coffee & Hustle podcast. Today, my guest is Sarah Gwin with Huntsville Integrative Therapy."
While working with couples, Sarah builds emotional equity by helping partners communicate more effectively and build a deeper connection. Sarah helps clients create a foundation of trust and respect that can withstand the ups and downs of life. Her approach is grounded in compassion and empathy. She believes that everyone has the potential to grow and heal, and her coaching can be a powerful tool for transformation. Whether working with individuals or couples, Sarah is committed to helping her clients live their best lives.
Sarah specializes in working with clients as they navigate their nervous systems to strengthen their minds, bodies, and hearts. How do our physical and emotional experiences interconnect?
According to the APA, adults aged 18 to 34 reported the highest rate of mental illnesses at 50% in 2023. Adults aged 35 to 44 also experienced the highest increase in mental health diagnoses, from 31% in 2019 to 45% in 2023.
When people funnel their emotional energy into anything over a sustained period, they make an "emotional investment." Becoming a wise emotional investor involves three steps: finding one's purpose, dedicating time and emotional resources, and constantly experimenting and evaluating. Spending time with the right people can help someone make better emotional investments.
Thank you for joining our program. Find your path to lasting emotional well-being.

We will discuss how clients can educate themselves on their marketing needs and still trust their experts to do their job. After completing her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at Auburn University, she completed her Master's in Nursing at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After ten years in Atlanta, she moved back to Huntsville in 2020 with her husband, Patrick, and son, Noah. Cove Telehealth helps women in Alabama aged 19-64 balance their hormones and thyroid using safe and effective prescription medications, supplements, and lifestyle changes. They combine conventional medical prescriptions with functional medicine supplements and lifestyle changes to create a customized treatment plan for each patient. Adrienne has been through a personal journey to diagnose and improve her own thyroid and hormone imbalances. She is thrilled to share all she has learned to help women feel their best. An estimated 80% of women suffer from some hormone imbalance.
Some warning signs include irregular menstrual cycles, infertility, hot flashes and night sweats, persistent weight gain, and fatigue. Cove Telehealth provides Specialty and Primary Care for Women, focusing on Thyroid, Hormone, Weight Management, and Preventive Care. Hormonal imbalances can also occur during natural cycles in your life, like puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. At Cove Telehealth, they help women balance estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone using prescription bio-identical hormones and quality supplements.
They can help with many hormonal conditions, including Menopause, Perimenopause, PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), PMS (premenstrual syndrome), and Adrenal fatigue.

Welcome to Coffee & Hustle with Carla Stiles of Designedbycarla, featuring Erica DeSpain to discuss "The Art of Harmonizing Life and Business for Success."
Work-Life Balance Strategies for Female EntrepreneursYou are a role model in the community for discussing how to find balance in today's business world. I know you keep a tight and organized schedule, so how do you manage interruptions? Can you share your daily routine and tips for balancing a business with motherhood? Time is everything!
Here are some tips to help you manage your time and achieve a work-life balance:
- Be intentional with your time: Set aside time to sit down and evaluate your schedule. Figure out what’s working and what isn’t. Have things changed over the past few months? What should you do differently? This approach to scheduling will help you remain focused on work-life balance, keeping you productive at work and present at home. I set aside one day a week when I don’t take meetings, and that day is entirely devoted to focusing on my own projects.
- Know when to say yes - and no: Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean you have to do it all. With all the responsibilities of being a female entrepreneur, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. Accepting help isn’t a sign of weakness or failure; instead, it’s vital to achieving the work-life balance many seek. Say “yes” to help when you need it.
- Stop comparing: In the age of social media, it’s far too easy to compare yourself to others. You might see a mother who seems to be doing everything with her children while running her own business. What is her secret? Does she know something you don’t? Is she doing something different or better than you are? Remember that each person’s experience as an entrepreneur is different, and everyone encounters their own unique challenges.
In the Coffee & Hustle podcast, Erica from All Things Madison shares her experience as an entrepreneur and how she turned her dream into a reality. She talks about her passion for incorporating the advertising and information people need to know in her platform. Erica also answers rapid-fire questions about her personal life and gives a shoutout on finding and connecting with her.

Welcome to Coffee & Hustle. Today, we will be discussing practical lessons in leadership. I am pleased to introduce Greg Taylor, the author of "Find Your Winning Edge" and the host of "The Leadership Factory Podcast". With over 35 years of experience in corporate and personal leadership, Greg is passionate about empowering individuals to reach their full potential. His mission is to create more inspirational leaders who motivate others to embark on journeys they wouldn't take alone.
We will talk about inspiring growth, lifelong learning, embracing failure, and having honest conversations. As leaders, we must learn these lessons and listen better to stay in tune. Sometimes, we must self-reflect to understand what's happening within our business and make necessary changes.
Failure is an inevitable part of any business, and accepting it as an opportunity for growth is crucial. We must learn to change and become stronger leaders without losing ourselves. A boss and a leader are significantly different, and we must change our mindset to become better leaders. Keeping skilled workers happy is also essential for any business's growth.
According to a recent study, the average person will switch careers 3-7 times over their working lives. With the ever-increasing variety of employment options, 30% of the workforce will change vocations or jobs every 12 months, and 32% of those aged 25 to 44.
Greg Taylor is a transformative leader who empowers individuals to reach their full potential. Through his work, he aims to help people learn from their experiences, inspire themselves, and create profound, lasting change that positively impacts everyone around them. The ultimate goal is to create more inspirational leaders who inspire others to take a journey they will not take alone.
Thank you for listening to today's episode of practical lessons in leadership on the Coffee & Hustle podcast. See you next time.

Hosted by Peyton Guy and his guest Carla Stiles. We discussed The Good, Bad, and Ugly of AI in our DiNiche podcast on Coffee & Hustle.
What are the common fears and misconceptions about AI and its potential to harm humans? Before we proceed, let's take a moment to understand the broad definition of AI by referring to Britannica.
"It's artificial intelligence (AI), the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. The term is frequently applied to the project of developing systems endowed with the intellectual processes characteristic of humans, such as the ability to reason, discover meaning, generalize, or learn from past experience."
If you have followed the evolution of computer development, you know that computers were initially designed to solve complex mathematical problems. From playing chess and solving mathematical theorems in the 1940s, and from there, programmers developed advanced software for medical diagnosis, voice and handwriting recognition, and search engines.
https://www.britannica.com/technology/artificial-intelligence
In fair discussion, AI comes in two types: narrow and general. Narrow AI is programmed for specific tasks, while general AI can do any task and is highly sophisticated and emotionally expressive. We can dissect this into other articles, but let's review the positive and negative Artificial Intelligence. As programmers, we comprehend programming with C++ or Python on specific platforms and their evolution.
Looking at the transformations and risks of AI can be daunting. We are already seeing how quickly content, programs, and creative restrictions are being replaced. Questions about what constitutes human and non-human are arising, as seen in the media through writer strikes. Jason Sudeikis, Susan Sarandon, and numerous other actors have joined screenwriters in Hollywood's biggest strike in over 60 years.

Privacy Risks and Investigations
AI's potential violation of privacy and infringement on individuals' rights and freedoms is a major concern due to its lack of transparency in data sources and how it arrives at conclusions. Additionally, the collection and storage of personal information pose a significant privacy risk, and the threat of cyberattacks from hackers creates further volatility and security issues.
But moreover, we will discuss creativity and critical thinking and its effects on individuals aware of what this will do now and in the future. We need to remember this is a machine-driven program, and the task you assign it, AI will perform, but you can't replace the human aspects in your style of business or brand voice.
So you can control the use of AI or let AI drive your business, but what fun would that be? We are not perfect, and it should be ok to make mistaks without a machine to figure it out all the time. You are in control and not the machine.

Lisa J. Smith, the CEO, and founder of SMITH Co., a sales consulting firm focused on modern midsize B2B businesses, is joining us today to review and discuss Shifting Your Thinking from Price to Value. Hello, and welcome to the Coffee & Hustle podcast.
Can you share your experience and background with Smithco with our audience? Our topic for today is shifting your focus from price to value for your business. Would you say this approach is beneficial even for a new business? And how can you apply this concept if you're already established in your industry? It's worth noting that the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows that 1 in 5 U.S. businesses fail within their first year. Can you discuss the advantages of value-based pricing?
As a business owner, it's crucial to establish your brand and vision. However, it's equally, if not more important, to view your business from your customer's perspective.
What is a good value pricing strategy? It's when businesses offer products or services at reasonable prices, providing customers with the best value for their money. This approach combines quality and affordability, making it appealing to cost-conscious consumers.
Which is more critical: value or price? How can you demonstrate your value to customers? It's essential to evaluate your pricing value regularly. You must shift your business mindset to focus on value instead of price. How can you convince your clients to do so?
How do you know if you're undervaluing your products or services? In my experience, small and medium-sized businesses often concentrate on the perceived benefits of value and pricing their products or services lower than their competitors.
When using three modes of persuasion, what are they? Ethos involves demonstrating that your business is credible, reliable, and relevant. Pathos inspires an emotional response, whether positive or negative. Logos is the logical reasoning of why a consumer should choose your company.
In my opinion, balance is crucial. If a customer perceives a product or service as invaluable, then purchases based solely on having a quality product at the lowest price become infrequent.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this topic and for tuning in to today's episode of Shifting Your Thinking from Price to Value on the Coffee & Hustle podcast. See you next time.
