Coffee over Suicide

Saipan isn't known for producing artists. Which is probably why Todays guest Katy Johnson came to Colorado. We have a really great conversation about music, art, finding yourself and coming to terms with not having all the answers. We also delve pretty heavily into what it's like to struggle with anxiety, depression and alcohol.

Tiffany Armstrong is controlled chaos personified. We get into some pretty heavy things right out of the gate, like dealing with death at 5 years old, shifting parental figures and overcoming the urge to self destruct through art. As harsh as that sounds, we have some genuine laughs along the way.

Alexander Bjorn Vargas is a walking dichotomy. He's a half Norwegian, half Mexican, tough as nails Buddhist that sings beautiful melodies over heavy guitars. We talk about all of that (AND MORE!) before wrapping it all up with not one, but 2 acoustic performances of never before released songs!Get the show for any platform here:Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/y82nebr6Apple: https://tinyurl.com/ybtplnmgAndroid: https://tinyurl.com/yctpuzo9You can check out Alexander and the Big Sleep HERE:https://www.alexanderandthebigsleep.com/Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yc9oya5uFacebook: https://tinyurl.com/yd3eodpv#mentalhealth #norway #mexico #denver#suicideawareness #podcast

THE HOLLOW HAS ONE DEFINITIVE GOAL:

TO DELIVER CATCHY THOUGHT-PROVOKING ROCK MUSIC THAT ENCOURAGES SELF LOVE AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS.

That’s a pretty tall order for a rock band out of Denver but Spencer Townshend Hughes is a tall guy and more than up to the task.

On the show we talk about the mental wellness group he started for musicians and artists in Denver, his personal struggle with anxiety and depression and of course, COFFEE.

Travis Moor isn't just another musical misfit kicking around the Denver music scene, he's a multimedia volcano of tragedy and obsurdity. From his band "The Hunger Artist", photo shoots with SPAM and merchandising a limited series of Kanye West toilet plungers, the work is varied to say the least. You don't need a working knowledge of Franz Kafka to appreciate his work, but it couldn't hurt.
