When Leena Anneli Peltoniemi first arrived to America in 1970’s she was only sixteen, but already quite advanced in her education and knowledge of ‘things that go bump in the night’. In Finland where she was born and raised, she spent her childhood in the forests being taught by a Lapp Shaman about the Sacred Teachings of all the Ages, Shamanism, Neo-Paganism, Ancient Cultures, UFO’s, Ghosts, Reincarnation and the Unreality of Reality - part of everyday life and study for Leena. After moving to Texas she joined the US Navy and became the first woman and a foreign woman to boot, to receive the U.S. Navy League Most Outstanding Recruit of the Year Award. Trained as a Corpsman and a Field Medic she continued in the medical field in civilian life nursing and teaching nursing. Unsatisfied with the medical system, she returned to school and obtained degrees in Archaeology and Linguistics. She worked with renowned John Anthony West in Egypt and studied the Symbolist Theory of Egyptology under his tutelage. She became a Field Investigator for Mufon under Texas State Director Ken Cherry and followed him to E.P.I.C. as a Southern Texas State Director. Leena is a disabled veteran and due to her health, has preferred to stay in the sidelines – but continues to study, observe and challenge the complex world around us, seen and un-seen.
