  • about the psalms of assent s5e36
This is not a study of all the psalms of assent. We will look at Psalm 120, the first psalm in this list, and notice some things we can take into the 21st century that will help us serve the Lord.

  • about nice, mean, and love s5e35
My schedule is all wonky because some kind of virus is running though our house. Hopefully it is all done and I'll be on my regular schedule now. As it sits, I hope you enjoy this Saturday upload.
There is allot of talk in the news about being mean. Folk who hold correct views about the trans issue are coming out and saying that we do not need to be mean to people who want to castrate your male children, sterilize your female children, or perform elective double mastectomies and its converse equivalent to males. I think the problem is that the social justice movement is winning the narrative in this area. We need to go back to the Bible and let the Bible define what being "mean," "nice," and " loving" actually is.

  • about shedding excess weight s5e34
This episode was inspired by a conversation I had through text with a good friend of mine. So often there are things in our lives we really think we need or are good for us the are actually holding us back. The Scripture teaches the we should shed this things so we can run the race of life with endurance. take a listen and let me know what you think. Are there things in your life that you should get rid of? I am sure the if I thought about it very long I will find things in mine that I need to get rid of.

  • about faith and healing s5e32
One of the reasons I do these podcasts is it allows me to order my thoughts. As such my podcasts are not always well logically arranged. They are stream of conscienceless. This is one of those episodes for sure. take a listen as I order my thoughts around this issue of faith healing and some of the argumentation I hear on the subject.

  • about ”Everybody Poops” s5e31
I do not often get cute or gimmicky with my titles. In fact, I do not believe I am doing that now with this title. That being said, I was thinking about how profound children;'s books can be. There is a lesson for all of us that is much needed in the book entitles, Everybody Poops. Please bear with me and overlook the silly title and let me know what you think about the content.

  • about the slippery slope fallacy s5e30
What about the slippery slope fallacy? What is it and how does it play into how we conduct ourselves. What does it have to do with how the church is led?

  • about what was said vs what was heard s5e28
This episode comes from a listener comment on the Cogitations facebook page. Aaron Dodson and I have a show called, Christianity Now, in which we discussed celebration of holidays. The listener talked about how she had to wrap her mind around what was said about the subject when we first started talking about it when she first heard it some time ago. This got me to thinking about other times when folk had a hard time hearing something new. Let me know what you think and if you have any examples of your own.

  • \about the curious case of Andrew Tate 5e27
If you have been paying attention to the news surrounding social media you have heard the name Andrew Tate. He is a hedonistic guru of sorts speaking out against the ills of our society. Today we are going to talk about what is going on with this case and some warnings for us and lessons we can learn from it.
