  • Christina Dean: Fashion, the Environment and Staying Determined

I’m really excited about this episode guys! I got the amazing opportunity to connect again with my office mate from years ago, Christina Dean. She is a powerhouse full of inspiration. She drops a whole lot of knowledge on us about the effects of the fashion world on our environment, that without a doubt will move you to make different decisions about what you wear and buy. But what I love about her the most is the incredible determination for what she does. It lit a fire under me to stay determined to, NO MATTER WHAT and I hope it will for you to!

  • Jessie Small: Coping with stress and tuning out others

Hey there! Welcome to episode 36 of the Collage Creative Podcast, hosted by myself Amy Small. This podcast is a weekly interview show dedicated to uncovering the stories, motivations and practices of women and men who are living life on their own terms through work they love.

Today on the show I have my baby sister Jessie Small Hicks. She shares the a story about taking a job that just wasn’t right for her. She was more stressed than she’d ever been and the health reprecussins were serious. From that experience a lot of good has happened, she is better at coping with stress and she shares what she does with us. The best thing to come out of (selfishly!) is of course her working with me at Knit Collage.

  • Emily Katz: Connection through macrame, failures and her first book

Today on the show I have Emily Katz and wow was this a jam packed episode. She tells us about how macramé sparked a connection with her mother after many years apart . My favorite part is when she dives into the advice and support her when her first company closed it’s doors. This story is going to inspire, you without a doubt. Emily came back from that and has gone on to do build her macramé empire. I know you’ll enjoy!

  • Paul Goodnight: Finding your voice through art

After 2 weeks off, I’m so happy to be kicking things off again today with a very special episode. Last Thursday during the bomb cycolone snow storm that hit the east coast, I sat down with Paul Goodnight. He's my neighbor but far beyond that, he’s an acclaimed painter, teacher and I learned on Thursday, fantastic story teller. We get into so many things, including how he found art after serving in Vietnam and why doing what you love is the secret to finding your voice. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes so far and I know you'll enjoy it too! Here we go.

  • Amy Small ~ updates & a quick survey

You might not know that for every 10th episode, I do a little something different around here. Last time I had my sister on which was a lot of fun- she talked to us about community as I geared up for my knitalong. In the 10th episode I spoke about things I had learned from my guests to far. Today is just going to be me and it will be a little mini one. I thought this would be a fun opportunity to dive into what’s really going on here at Knit Collage and things I’ve been wrestling for the past month or so and I want to get your opinion on what direction to take with the podcast next – so stay tuned for that!
