Dr. Susan VanScoyoc, Ph.D., ABPP is a board-certified psychologist with more than 25 years of experience helping children, teens, and families navigate the challenges of growing up. She’s also a college mom who understands how disorienting it can be to parent a young adult: one day they’re acing their money presentation in Microeconomics, the next they’re broke because they DoorDashed three iced lattes.

Dr. VanScoyoc is the founder of Campus Confident, a digital company focused on helping parents support their college students’ mental health with expert guidance, practical tools, and a lot of emotional honesty. Her work bridges the gap between clinical insight and real-life parenting, especially during the high-stakes, high-stress years of emerging adulthood.

She challenges the idea that turning eighteen means kids no longer need their parents. With college stress at an all-time high, she wants parents to know that staying connected is not only allowed, it’s essential. Her mission is to give parents the tools and confidence to support independence while also being the anchor their students can count on.
