In this week's episode we continue our summer series "Cultivate." Our focus through the summer has been on the virtues and traits of Jesus we need to cultivate in this season of life. However, in this episode, we are not focusing on the WHAT but the HOW. How do we cultivate these traits?
God ultimately brings the growth in our lives but one key way we can water and grow is through the practice of prayer. Specifically, we are going to look at Paul's seemingly challenging words in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to pray without ceasing. What exactly does this mean? And how can these words guide us as we begin a new school year?
In this week's episode we continue our summer series focusing on the kinds of people we are becoming in these trying times. What virtues and traits of Jesus should we cultivate in our lives right now?
In light of a heightened awareness of racial tensions in our country in recent weeks we are going to spend time intentionally talking about this topic. The hope is we will cultivate a willingness to have conversation about hard issues and seek understanding of those different than ourselves.
This week we are going to hear the perspective of an outside voice, Eric Gentry. Eric Gentry is the Preaching Minister at the Highland Church of Christ in Memphis, TN.
He has served there for almost a decade and one of his core values has been working towards racial justice in his context. In this week's episode we will get to hear about his journey and what he is learning as a leader working towards racial justice.
