Speaking this Sabbath is our Lead Pastor. Jesus tells a very strange parable of an incompetent steward who gets fired but acts wisely by reducing payments to debtors in order to make friends. Jesus says this wise man used material things to make eternal friends. In this story, we learn three principles for living in God's kingdom:

* God's kingdom is always about the kind of person I become.

* God desires for me to use all I have in my earthly kingdom for His kingdom.

* If I cannot use earthly things for God's kingdom, He cannot trust me with heavenly things.

Speaking this Sabbath is Simon Liversidge, reminding us of "The Joy of Work (and Rest)." As Jesus heals a crippled woman on Sabbath, He demonstrates the purpose of Sabbath. Sabbath is an invitation to celebrate God's good work of creation. Sabbath is an invitation into the freedom of God's re-creative power. Sabbath is an invitation to team up with Jesus in His re-creation work.

Speaking this Sabbath is our Children's Pastor, as she asks "How's Your Courage?" We rarely think about courage until a moment asks something of us. In Esther 4, a young woman living in exile faces a decision that could cost her everything. We'll explore how courage begins with a decision, grows through surrender, and is cultivated in the presence of God. How might God be preparing ordinary hearts for the moments that matter most?

Speaking this Sabbath is our Lead Pastor. Jesus is a true prophet, but He also gives the gift of prophecy through His Spirit. We often do not understand the purpose of prophecy or how it works. The gift of prophecy is speaking the words of God to another person. The gift of prophecy functions like other spiritual gifts; it is intended to bring people closer to Jesus.

Speaking this Sabbath is our Lead Pastor. Jesus tells the parable of the workers in the vineyard to help us understand that He calls each person to be involved in ministry. But, all have difference callings. In the story, we see three ways I can allow God to shine in me. 1. Relax. It's God's vineyard. 2. Respect. Each gift and calling is valuable. 3. Respond. I live from the grace I have been given.

Speaking this Sabbath is our Lead Pastor. Jesus tells a parable of a wedding banquet in Matthew 22, where He invites everyone. Jesus wants everyone to respond, but they don't. Responding, though, means I don't just show up; I take the robe of righteousness Jesus freely offers. This is similar to what happens when I am baptized. Baptism is a continual gift of God's spirit, and a reminder God invites me to ask Him to do something amazing.

Speaking this Sabbath is our Lead Pastor, asking "Who Is My Neighbor?" In Luke 10, Jesus sends out His disciples after being with them. Intimacy, then independence. In this experience, He teaches them how to love God and their neighbor as themselves. In this process, we experience unity. Oneness in Jesus...as we are one in His passion, one in His power, and one in His purpose.
