Growing as a disciple is a goal. Stephen began to follow Jesus' Way, not because of some deeply theological decision, but because the church community actually cared about people and made sure everyone had food and a safe place to live. Along the Way though, his religion matured. He grew beyond ego. The power and purpose he found can be yours too. You are being called.

Raising up new leaders in Christ's Church is an honor. This year Paula Arbuthnot, a student with Eden Theological Seminary, has been doing her field education with our Colonial Church community. This Sunday, Paula is preaching and leading our Easter season worship service. May God bless her developing call to ministry as we welcome her!

The Easter season is a time of “coming out of the tombs.” This past year we've experienced the tombs of death, economic loss, grief, and unrest. There are also tombs of our own making, and we ask ourselves, “what holds us back from claiming our freedom to really LIVE and to dance with joy?” No matter what confines you, our Easter message is one that offers the courage for new starts.

Palm Sunday is here! Most years on this Sunday, we hear the dark story of Jesus' passion and death. We have just spent a year walking in the valley of the shadow of death, so this Sunday we're going to celebrate recovery and how we might get up and walk again in Christian Love. This Sunday, we turn to stories of healing for guidance as this holy season of Lent begins.

There is a lot of talk about "unity" these days. This Sunday, we are going to turn to the story of five people who lived and died in faith on a frigid February night. Their story needs to be heard. It has the power to inspire us in this moment we live in. We will also be honoring the Scouts in our church community. May we as a community raise them up as they develop themselves with values and character.
