  • Hallways & Doors (100, Pt. 1)
EPISODE 100! (09/09/20): Is our God faithful to equip us for what He calls us to? Over the span of 2 years & 100 episodes of this podcast, I'm overwhelmingly reminded that the answer is YES! Join me in this two-part 100th Episode celebration, as we talk through the origins of The Colorinchaos Podcast, the fears, insecurities, joys & hardships that came with such a task, and the faithfulness of our God to walk us all through each and every hallway & door of this life.
When we are weak, our God is strong.
When we are unable, our God is able.
When we waste what we’ve been given, our God is faithful to pursue and replenish.
When our love is shallow, our God’s love overcomes.
Heavy heart, You are NOT alone.

  • The Light Still Shines
Episode 99 (08/26/20): As the disciples of Jesus felt as if they were fastly approaching death in the middle of a turbulent sea, we find Jesus fast asleep through the chaos and darkness of the stormy night. In the darkness of what feels like the stormy night of present-day, you may feel as if God has fallen asleep to the cries and pleads surrounding & within you. In this chaos, is there a light that still shines even through THIS storm?
Heavy heart, though the darkness is overwhelming, there is a Light that still shines.

  • The Nurse
Episode 98 (08/19/20): Regardless of who you are, we all have fears. For me? Not only do I have a fear of needles, but I have a fear of passing out from the anxiety that they bring. This last Saturday, not only was I required to receive an IV before surgery, I found myself in a situation where what I feared the most began to happen after receiving it. As I began to lose consciousness and the nurses rushed in, I found myself in a situation where my eyes were closed - yet my heart was opened to a deeper truth that was at work around me.
No matter where today finds you, this episode is for you.

  • Limping Through The Seasons of Detours...
Episode 97 (08/13/20): As quickly as it takes for a bone to break, each and every day brings an opportunity for even the best-laid plans in our lives to turn completely upside down. Is there a color in the chaos when the chaos seems to destroy everything we once planned? Where is God when we go through seasons of detours & suffering in this life?
Heavy heart, though our hearts and bodies may be limping… there is color even when we find ourselves traveling through detours that we never would have chosen to journey through on our own.

  • The Comparison Game
Episode 96 (08/05/20): In the present day, we are all subject to intense comparison. From social media to culture in general, we live in a world of platforms, podiums, stages, and spotlights all centered around constantly parading those with the crippling pressure of either having “it” or not. In this world of comparison, where can we breathe? Who are we in the aftermath of pressure to perform day-to-day? Looking at John 1:15, join us as we look at one sentence given to a father concerning his one day son which shines a spotlight on how our Creator, Savior, and Sustainer sees us even before we were conceived.

  • Light, Dark, & Readjusted Hearts
Episode 95 (07/29/20): No matter what type of night’s sleep we had previously, when we awake, our eyes need time to adjust to the light of day that greats us all. Though our eyes eventually adjust to the tension that the morning light brings, what about the tensions that we face in our lives that our hearts struggle to overcome and adjust to? Join us as we lean into the human fascination with darkness/light, good/evil, and surrender/control as we look at Jesus' words found in John 8. No matter where today finds you, you are NOT alone.

  • The Song That Cries Out (The Messy Middle) [Featuring: David from Jesus Freak Hideout]
Episode 94 (07/22/20): A one-sentence summary of this episode: Part geek out concerning the music industry, and part conversation about the messiness of faith, belief, and the hope that remains regardless of the dust of our questions and mess-ups.
It’s interesting, there’s something about music that transcends beliefs, cultures, wounds, and experiences. In this week’s episode, join us as we not only dive into the messiness and frustrations concerning the music industry, but also the tensions within theology and faith. Join us as we have an honest conversation concerning the importance of being challenged while also examining the label of what makes something/someone “Christian” with this week’s guest, David, from the music review website, Jesus Freak Hideout.
A native to the Pacific Northwest, David has long held a passion for quality rock music. He holds MA and BS degrees in missiology and theology, respectively, and since 2013, has written for Jesus Freak Hideout, an online Christian music magazine. He currently resides in Seattle with his family where he exposes his headbanging toddler to Falling Up, Wolves at the Gate, and other quality jams.

  • I Am Not The Savior You Are Looking For ... (Human)
Episode 92 (07/08/20): In the movie Star Wars, Obi-Wan famously states to his approaching enemies: "these are not the droids you are looking for". Even though this catchphrase is often used to comically state that something is not representing what it may "appear" to represent, at the end of the day, we all struggle with looking at other people, objects, and situations to fulfill and satisfy what can only be found in our Savior alone. Join us as we have a human conversation - full of acknowledgment of weaknesses and a desire for growth and beauty to come from our chaos. Our weaknesses remind us that we are human.

  • The Fish & The Drainage Pipe

Episode 91 (07/01/20): What does a small fish stuck between a water drainage pipe and a river have to do with our hearts? No matter who you are, each day can bring the temptation for us to settle for where we are instead of striving for the abundant waters that we all crave. We all will feel “stuck” at one point or another … yet through it all, there is a HOPE that can be found even in the most unexpected moments of chaos and pain.
Heavy heart, you are NOT alone.
