The sermon for this Sunday is on the armor of God and especially the first pieces of armor, the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness. As Pastor will point out in the message, the armor of God is rooted in Old Testament descriptions of the armor worn by God and Messiah to come.

This Sunday, we continue to consider the great spiritual foes we face as believers. Last week, we especially considered the Devil who is scheming against us. This week, we consider v 12 and the spiritual powers who have conspired with the Devil to attack us. These sinister forces are great, which is why Paul urges a second time the necessary message of v 13: Therefore, take up the whole armor God.

this Sunday, we continue our consideration of our spiritual warfare. Last week, we considered from v 10 that we must be strengthened for the fight with the mighty power of Christ. The strength we receive is a spiritual strength that knows, loves, obeys, and holds to Christ. Our focus this week will especially be on our foe and the nature of our conflict.
