The sermon for this Sunday is a continued look at the call to prayer in Ephesians 6:18. The importance of prayer in this passage is tied closely to our conflict with the forces of evil, the subject matter of Paul since v 10 of chapter 6. Prayer is essential to our spiritual conflict. Last week, we saw that the kind of prayer that will help us stand in our conflict is constant and spiritual. This week, we will consider that we must approach God with dependent, alert, preserving, and intercessory

This Sunday, we return to the “armor of God” and Ephesians 6. We have reached the end of the section and Paul’s addition of prayer to the panoply of God. While prayer is presented differently from the other parts of our spiritual kit, it is nevertheless very much related to our armor, completing the discourse with an emphasis on prayer in our conflict with spiritual forces.
