  • Raven Woods Smoke Signals
Denise Gard knew she wanted to write by the age of eight. She loved crafting stories at the kitchen table

that made her mother choke with laughter. As Denise matured, she also discovered the lure of acting.

Acting in local dinner theaters doesn’t pay the bills, so in her twenties Denise split her time between

acting and as a Children’s Specialist for a public library. The title sounded fancy, but she mostly read

stories to children which put Denise on a new career path, becoming a professional storyteller to

combine her passions of acting and creating stories. She also trained her Border Collies, Joey and Kira, to

perform with her at public libraries, schools, and for senior citizens in memory care and assisted living.

Denise’s debut novel was inspired by her interactions with seniors and a forest fire that destroyed her

community in 2013. The chapters about dating are from her real-life experiences. Names and places

were changed, but Denise’s disastrous dating life is an ongoing source of humor for her married friends.

Denise also writes and performs stories for children.

  • Forgiving Yourself...
    Forgiving Yourself...

The pressure is real and the situations sometimes con be overwhelming, I often speak of after war there is no place in society for it, its real and the situations, carnage and instant realty change, causes thoughts and perception to change and sometimes end up taking paths of destructive or extreme behaviors, sometimes its just a skip in life and we move on. If something did not work out and you became part of a situation with a no win probable outcome, you may carry that with you in the best or worst ways...... Be good to yourselves and move forward in a positive way. In front of that mirror that is sometimes hard to look into state to yourself often "I forgive you" even if it means nothing or the belief is false....Someday it may become the reason and passion in what drives you to love and taste life in a much better way.......

"Killed in an off-road collision on New Year’s Eve was identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office as Christopher Raahauge, who was a co-founder of Shelter for Change, a local addiction-treatment center.

Raahauge, 60, was one of three occupants in an all-terrain vehicle that crashed Friday afternoon, Dec. 31, in the La Sierra Hills in Riverside, officials said. He and a 33-year-old man who had not yet been identified publicly both died, officials said, with the third occupant suffered moderate injuries.

Raahauge co-founded Shelter For Change with his wife, Karen. The nonprofit helps those dealing with addiction, its website reads.

According to the website, Chris Raahauge was a recovering addict and alcoholic who had been sober for 15 years. He overcame the addiction, and he and his wife started Shelter for Change to help others."

Aaron Seibert, USN Corpsman and Ramon Andino USN Corpsman, will discuss and remember a man who truly is one of the best supporters of sober living and helping those who need and want help. he was a mentor, battle buddy, and always willing to help in The Warrior Built Foundation and The PTSD Foundation of America SoCal Chapters mission of supporting Combat Vets.

  • Ricky Ortiz (NFL) Dynamic Fitness "Hero Program" for Veterans
Ricky Ortiz (born April 15, 1994) is an American football fullback who is a free agent. He played college football at Oregon State.

    Early years
Ortiz attended and played high school football at Mater Dei High School.[1]

    College career
Ortiz committed to Oregon State in 2013, as a fullback. Ortiz started his first career game as a fullback as a sophomore in 2014, where he had no rush attempts, but 12 catches for 90 yards and no touchdowns.[2] Ortiz switched to tight end during the 2015 season, as well as briefly to linebacker. His linebacker stint did not last long, but he did make some starts at tight end during 2015 and 2016. In 2015, he had no receptions (because he was primarily used as a blocker), but in 2016, he had 5 receptions for 34 yards, scoring his only college touchdown. He was also a core special teams player, racking up 47 tackles in his collegiate career, the 2nd most special teams tackles on the Beavers. He split time from halfback, tight end, fullback, and linebacker.[3]

    Professional career
    Baltimore Ravens
Ortiz signed with the Baltimore Ravens on April 29, 2017 as an undrafted free agent.[4] He was waived by the Ravens on September 2, 2017 and was signed to the practice squad the next day.[5] He was released on October 3, 2017, but was re-signed on November 14, 2017.[5] He signed a future/reserve contract on January 2, 2018.[6] He was released by the Ravens on May 7, 2018.[5]

    Atlanta Falcons
Ortiz signed with the Atlanta Falcons on May 23, 2018.[7] He made his NFL debut in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was the starting fullback in the 18–12 loss.[8] On September 2, 2019, the Falcons waived Ortiz with an injury settlement.[9]

    New Orleans Saints
On November 22, 2019, Ortiz was signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad.[10] He was released on December 4, 2019. He was re-signed to the active roster on December 28, 2019.[11] He was waived on August 2, 2020.[12]
